Doubting that which you don't personally read because you are too busy worrying about birthers and people who might not like Obama? LOL!
I am doubting that Barack Obama enacted a Christmas Tree tax.

Although I can readily believe that somewhere on the internet there is a misleading headline suggesting that he did.

Closed minded people doubt and dismiss far more than open minded people. Food for thought.

And before you argue who wanted it and why, the very fact that it was canceled after it was enacted is a tremendous waste of government resources - so what was the point, anyway?

Of course, that reminds me of Monsanto and its relationship with the Obama Administration but that's for another thread.

Partially. You didn't respond about the Democratic Convention.

The Dems are requiring a photo ID to enter even though the Delegate had been nominated and preregistered, which would mean their name, presumably, is on the list of eligible delegates. This is much like the process to vote.

What might happen if a delegate who had preregistered and whose name presumably is on the list showed without a photo ID?

Will they accept a utility bill as proof (which you could get out of the trash and not be that person)?

Will they get one for them?

OK--you made me look.

Despite headlines, there was never a Christmas Tree Tax.

The industry (that would be Christmas Tree Growers) had requested--throught the US Dept of Ag--the assessment of a $.15 per tree fee in order to study losses to other market segments (plastic and aluminum trees) and explore ways to regain market share.

According to Snopes this is not without precendent in other industries.

The President put a halt on it due to public misunderstanding and push-back.

So--there was never a tax.

It was requested by Christmas Tree Growers.

Obama was the one who stopped it.

People get their undies in bunch over some very foolish things. Clearly in this case it was pumped up by the folks who keep trying to claim that there is an active "war on Christmas," and that Obama is deeply involved in it.

Specific questions regarding the Democratic Convention might best be addressed to the DNC. I am not familiar with their security provisions.

Might be important to keep out some of those rowdy Republicans who were getting into it over Romney vs Ron Paul in Washington and Missouri. Some folks just don't know how to behave, ya know? And they might try to infiltrate.

Are you asking if any of the above are Constitutionally protected rights? If so, no, they are not.

If you are asking if they are allowable under the Constitution, yes, they are.

By the States only and only if they decide. Remember there are enumerated powers for the Federal Government.

Things not allowed in the Constitution:

The Air Force
Congressional Districts
The Electoral College
Executive Order
Executive Privilege
Freedom of Expression
(Absolute) Freedom of Speech and Press
"From each according to his ability..."
God
Immigration
Impeachment means removal from office
Innocent until proven guilty
It's a free country
Judicial Review
Jury of Peers
"Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness"
Marriage
Martial Law
No taxation without representation
Number of Justices in the Supreme Court
"Of the people, by the people, for the people"
Paper Money
Political Parties
Primary Elections
Qualifications for Judges
The right to privacy
The right to travel
The right to vote
The separation of church and state
The Separation of Powers Clause
Slavery
"We hold these truths to be self-evident"

Many things have been accepted but not in the Constitution as to the wording of them.

Would this be equal to assuring Security provisions in making sure of a Fair Election?

I know they're called OWS, PETA, ACORN, NAACP, SOROS and others, you know...... Democrat supporters.

Odd that you have a catchy thought or two on every other subject but not on the policies of the Democrat Convention.

If you voted for Romney you would betray your own beliefs of freedom, and the pursuit of happiness and liberty. Ron Paul would fit your understanding of what a politician should be than Willard "the chamelion" Romney.

Valid point! But will the worker sitting at the polls accept ALL forms of state or government ID is what we can't determine.

<quoted text>We'll see if ppl are allowed to vote still if they've moved and have an old address on their ID, but live at a different address. The utility proof will be tested in due time and if someone is not allowed to vote because of change of address, the damage has already been done. Can't turn back time and that will cheat a citizen from voting. There will be lawsuits filed. And no one has explained why ex-felons can't vote in some southern states?
I'd rather a person who didn't take care of their responsibility to get proper paperwork to vote legitimately, to have to lose their ability to vote, rather than to have someone steal my vote, when I have taken all necessary steps to vote legitimately.

You Dems have no arguement and only continue to argue for the reason to steal our votes. Stolen vote time is OOOOOOOVERRRRRR. Grow up and be responsible, quit cheating, we are tired of it and we are stopping you this time.

Yet another un-substantiated response on this thread.....Your people are the ones coming up with the new rules. You ahve yet to prove anything substantive with regards to voter fraud, and case stydy by case study shows that your "rampant" voter fraud story can't hold water!

What PROOF can you post that show there was voter cheating in YOUR state...huh? Not registered but an actual fake vote that was counted! If you have no proof it's nothing but smoke n mirrors from the GOP.
