I was appalled that the Yankee General Manager of WBTV had the gall to come on TV and totally misrepresent the Confederate flag. Equating it with racism is ignorant. How dare he come to our home and impose his narrow views on us? He called for a ban of certain clothing in Gaston County Schools - clothing that creates " disruption"? Who is going to decide that sir?

Are you going to just ban flags or are you going to ban Malcolm X and Farrakhan shirts, too?
Whose rights will you take away to accommodate your narrow political views? I'm so sick of Yankees coming to our community and trying to impose their ways on us.

Everyone that appreciates and wears the flag of the Confederacy is NOT racist.

I wish millions of southerners would move UP NORTH and start disrespecting them! Oh wait, we can't - THEY have already ruined where they came from with bad decision-making. That's why they are here! ;)

Charlotte Native-
Try and over look the yankee ignorance. They do not have a clue concerning Southern culture and have no respect for each other. Yankees are rude always have been. I am in the process of joining the Sons Of Confederate Veterans. Socialize with Southern people, it makes for a much happier day!!!

I have quite a few friends from the north. But , as a group , they have brought some bad traits with them to our home. They have created their own stereotypes by their rude behavior - and they reinforce them with insane comments like this haughty man from WBTV did. I miss the Jefferson Pilot days - the station has little or no connection with the home culture.

And the Confederate flag means WHAT?

It means you people did not want to be Americans any more. It means you want this nation destroyed, as does Osama.

Here is a scene from "Gods and Generals" that shows that dirty rotten Freemasonic Rebel SOB Stonewall Jackson taking his last filthy breath.

Notice his casget as not draped with the AMERICAN flag....Notice how there is no AMERICAN flag in the procession as it approches VMI.

It sickens me that a State University like VMI even today makes its students salute a statue of Stonewall Jackson. That is as bad as making them salute Hitler or Osama.

I wish I could find that scene in Gods and Generals where the VMI "Keydets" took down the American flag and burned it, replacing it with the filthy, hate-filled Rebel flag

And you call yourselves "patriotic" ?

By the way, that scene was actually filmed at neighboring Washington and Lee University. I have visited both campuses and I spit on VMI while I was there

While you are at it, life coach, looking for that picture of General Jackson's casket, find those pictures of the before and after, the pictures of Georgia before Sherman marched through the area and after his march through the area. Show everyone the scorched earth policy of Sherman and Grant's and then find the pictures of Pennsylvania after Lee and his troops left and notice the difference. No scorched earth policy from General Lee and any of the Confederate troops. Yes, get'em coach. Show us the difference between a soldier's war of not bothering the locals or any of the locals property and the barbarism of the bluecoats in any area they invaded whether it be Georgia, Virginia or any other area. How about the scorched earth policy of burning the wheat fields of the Shenandoah Germans in Virginia who sold as much or more wheat in Pennsylvania as they did Virginia. Who ordered the scorched earth policy in the Shenandoah? U.S. Grant, himself. Who carried it out? Philip Sheridan. Go ahead and tell us about the flag draped coffin of General Jackson but don't mention the heathenism of the bluecoats. Do you want to hear more?

Now that you told us what the Confederate flag means, I will tell you what the Confederate flag means. It means that some of us believe in States' Rights, the Constitutional form of government that the founding fathers visioned, not this federalistic form of government that we have today and was in its infancy during the days of President Lincoln. It's ironic the unconstitutional federalistic form of govenment took root in the days of Abraham Lincoln, was carried much further by the presidencies of Woodrow Wilson and FDR and is skyrocketing under the presidency of BHO, begun by a Republican, mushroomed under two Democrats and skyrockets under a moslem. Amazing. The Confederate flag symbolises the real America, a constitutional form of government with the military under the auspices of the federal government and everything else under the control of the States. It's called States' Rights, something those in D.C. care nothing about and LC and others of his ilk know nothing about.

Hey Looney Tune. Your recounting of the Confederacy is total fantasy.
By the way, just for your personal knowledge Woodrow Wilson revived the KKK from the White House when he promoted the DW Griffith film "The Klansman" that was later re named "Birth of a Nation".

States Rights is a bogus argument. The confederate states wanted the "right" to own slaves.

Furthermore the states dont exist independently of the republic. The states are not free to exist seperately and in defiance of the US Constitution.

PS- General Sherman is an American hero. He ended the war started by the slave traders and their partner Great Britain. What we should have done after deating their puppet government known as the Confederacy is we should have waged all out war on England. Had we done that we wouldnt have the problems we have today.

Here's the deal. Many black people find the Confederate flag offensive. Totally understandble.

Many white people see the flag as a symbol of respect for fallen confederate veterans, who were fighting for any number of reasons, not just slavery. Perhaps a symbol of southern pride.

I respect both positions and we all should too. As a symbol, its obviously polarizing and should not be placed on official government property or used as a state symbol.

We have to respect that black people find it offensive, but out of that same respect, I would hope that black people would understand that it is not always intended as symbol of hatred toward them, or as a symbol of racism for those people.

I have lived in the south my whole life, and have seen all sides to this issue, the good and the bad. The division that continues to divide us all is sad... A little understanding by all parties would go a long way.

Why would that make a difference? The dumbest SOB in the video was clearly a Reb. Therefore, nitwit to title the video "Dumb Yankees" is a misnomer.

No go back to laughing, but cover your mouth. Otherwise all those missing teeth will show.
