Moving to Rapid City

My wife and I are moving to Rapid City. We are looking at a house right on Canyon Lake Road. I was hoping to get some advice from some current Rapid Citians. First, does Canyon Lake Road get a lot of traffic? When I lived in RC 10 years ago it wasn't that bad. Second, does anyone live along the stretch between Sioux San and Canyon Lake proper? Is that still a pretty decent neighborhood? Third, the place we are looking at needs some more shrubbery. What would anyone recommend for year-around shrubbery that can take the SD winters, maybe for privacy from a busy street? Thanks in advance!
