Dozen officers honored for response to Samson area shootings

These brave officers deserve the honors they have received. I often wander when we will start hearing about some of the first responders who worked so hard during this time. They are trained not to enter a scene without first having the scene declared safe by an officer. Yet these brave men and women put their safety aside and went in there and did what they could do. Yes, the police officers, state troopers, conservation officers and county deputies all deserve to be honored. Who knows how many lives they saved in doing what they did. But please don't overlook the EMS and Fire departments that also layed it all on the line.

I agree...I think all deserve to be honored..That is a day that no one will forget!..I know that I won't my Husband left for work on that day and drove through there shortly before the shootings happened..I remember when I heard the news and was so shocked cause we were right next to where it happened at..

I disagree with you. The SAMSON Chief and Asst did not respond. Why? That question is yet to be answered. The Chief was in town so why did he not go after McClendon instead of Bruce Maloy (a resident) who did not have any weapons but his truck. The asst chief did not respond to his first two links? Why?
