I was very proud of our Jenks School security, Middle School administration and staff and volunteer parents who managed the Middle School/7th grade parent pick up in this situation. They were level-headed, good communicators and managed the situation. I felt confident that my child was their top priority. Thank you!

Why Did The Tulsa Police Put These Kids safety In Jeopardy? Knowing That A Middle Scholl Was Nearby. They Knew Who The Man Was And Where He`s At,They Could Have Waited At Least Until Later In The Evening.

was a little surprised though, that with our phone system, we didn't receive a phone call...would have been nice to know what was going on when we pulled up to the school...but, thanks and kuddos go out to the volunteers...cause that was a HUGE MESS!!!

Jenks West Elementary was locked down as well for a short period of time. I believe it was a mis communication about which school was involved.

The Jenks Administration did an amazing job to keep our kids safe. I had picked up mine at 3:45 personally and didn't know there was a problem until a neighbor went looking for her son who didn't come home. I came in the house immediately and there was a message from the Jenks School. Two hours later another message they were letting the buses run.

I am not being critical here, because I am so grateful that Jenks called us and called us again. BUT I think a message that told us what happened and that it was OUTSIDE the school would have been really comforting. All I knew was that something happened at Jenks East and our kids couldn't be bused home. And I was in panic for our neighborhood kids.

Again, Jenks, GREAT job and I am grateful. But maybe a change in the message might be helpful. If it is a lockdown OUTSIDE of the school, you will all feel less panic from the parents.

Again, tho, thank you thank you and thank you for taking care of our kids, that is why we moved here.

Today the Jenks Public School District did what we expected them to do: protect our children with the best of their abilities in what little time they had. Having seen what was happinig at one elementary, we are so very thankful and proud of all the Jenks teachers, staff, Jenks police and all those bus drivers who performed excellently, promptly and orderly in securing the premises. Thank YOU, Thank YOU, Thank YOU, Jenks Southeast for protecting our children just as good as we would have.

I don't know, maybe they didn't find him outside of school hours or in an area away from a school. Maybe you could send out a booklet to let bad guys know where and when they can be picked up???

I am sure by now you realize how stupid this was.

I bet this guy would have been caught if we had our police helicopters. Maybe we will get lucky and he will run into the mayor while he is out running around and tell her thanks for helping him escape from the police.

No doubt, but the police helicopters would have cost her some money she couldn't spend elsewhere, like on the dumb crap she tried to get done.

Hey Mayor Taylor NOW you have subjected our children to danger, do you care? I doubt it.

If they were undercover officers then there were no uniforms or ID.
I would suspect a robbery or carjacking, and do my damnest to use deadly force against my attackers.

I work for Jenks Public Schools, and my hat off to them as well. Actually, school had already been let out, and students were on the buses and ready to leave when the red flag went up. The children were all escorted off the buses and shuttled back into their buildings. When the buses were released, children were delivered home with a teacher riding on each bus. I was disappointed though that if there was no parent to pick their child up at their bus stop, the driver was instructed to return that child back to transportation. I guess when the driver had to return the teacher riding with them back to their school, the teacher was thru for the day. Transportation is no place for kids to be hanging around. Why couldn't the child be dropped off back at their school along with a teacher? Besides that, transporation department is at the fall north end of Jenks, and these parents had to drive into Jenks to get their kids. Makes more sense to pick them up at their school.

the middle school was having an after school 7th grade party and Jenks Middle School was on lockdown as well until about 5 and parents had to show their IDs to pick up their kids. The line went from the Gym all the way to the main office, crowding the hallways.

I am so thankful for the staff and volunteers at Jenks Middle school!! Picking up all those students from their dance could have been so hectic and I was super impressed at how the middle school handled the whole lockdown situation. Good job!!

They had jerseys on identifying themselves as police officers. Blue jersey big gold letters that say TULSA POLICE. The facts in this story are not correct. You people need to stop believing everything you read. GET REAL!!

Just because your kid goes to Jenks schools does not mean you live in Jenks, sorry but you live in Tulsa still.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Virgo

If something is weighing on your mind it will start to affect your health, Virgo. It might make you feel tired or depressed, or it could dominate your thoughts. You know what you should do about it, of course, but it seems like too much effort or you want to pretend that it doesn't exist. Unfortunately, this escapist attitude won't make the problem go away and might even make it more tricky by the time you finally decide to tackle it.
