Murder suspects still get one trial

I wander if they will postpone the trail again.

Does any one know why they post-poned the trail again coming up on week of aug.24?

I don't know what's going on but I do know those guys need to tell what happen or who did it if they they didn't do it, and stop using taxpayer money. Mike give them the chair, I bet they will open their mouth then and start talking.

I think they need to be excuted like they did vikie and ronnie!!! I knew vikie well, we raised our kids together. and i married into the family, and she was the sweetest woman you would ever meeet. This is b.s. dragging it out.!!!

I don't know what is taking so long either and i didn't know Vickie but i do know her mom and i know she is one of the sweetest people i know, i think it is terrible they are draging this out so long

Viki was not a sweet person on drugs. She abandon her kids for drugs and Ronnie and was on drugs when her childern were young; however, both of them didn't derserve to be brutely murdered. They were not good parents because of drugs. I knew her well too. Viki's mother on the other hand is a very kind and loving person who has been through hell with the addictions of her childern and yet she upheld them and gave them unconditional love.
I admire her for that.

Just because she was on drugs doesn't mean that she couldn't be a sweet person. That's crazy for saying such a thing. I just hope they don't lets these guys go if they did it. Mike may need clarke county police to help him.

The truth hurts. There isn't anything good or sweet about addictions. You are confused and I don't recall Vicki having any clean times other than jail w/o drugs in years proir to her death. Iam sure she had some bitter/sweet times in her life. Mike did a fine job wit this case.

Because pre-trial motions have to be disposed of first.

Before there is a trial, the defendants asked to have separate trials, as is their legal right to do..

There was a hearing on the motions and the judge denied it. They will be tried together unless the defense appeals the ruling regarding the separation of the trials. Appealing a ruling is also the defendant's right.

Appeals take time. I doubt you would want YOUR trial rushed if YOU were the defendant. You would be kicking and screaming for YOUR civil rights.

Meanwhile, other issues could come up and that will mean more pre-trial motions. For instance, if there is too much pretrial publicity, the defendants could ask for a change of venue. then, there will be a hearing on that...

Those defendants (alleged murders) enjoy the presumption of innocence until they are proven guilty by the jury. They are entitled to a fair trial, no matter how long it takes. Those rights apply to all criminal suspects and defendants. You never know when it could be YOU on trial.

I didn't see anything about the evidence against these two defendants.... what is the prosecution's evidence?

No, they don't. The have a fifth amendment right against self incrimination. They don't have to say anything. You cannot be forced to testify against yourself. these defendants have a constitutional right to remain silent...

Give them "the chair" without a fair trial?

Why are christian hypocrites so eager to give people the death penalty?

I have heard that is not a death penalty case because there is not enough strong evidence, but who really knows what the outcome will be.

If you do the crime you must do the time, that's the bottom line. You must think before you do these bad things. I don't feel sorry for no one that commit crime because it unacceptable.

I know the whole family , vicki , her mother , and her kids. Vicki may had a drug problem but she was one of the most kind people i knew. she had a heart of gold. i am best friends with her niece , and vicki did love her kids , but everyone has problems i am sure your not perfect. if you respect her mother like you say you do you would not write crap like that for her to read.

For one thing about this case. Peoples who don't know what they're talking should keep they're mouth shut. If you're going to talk tell the truth. They're peoples life on line here. If you were not there shut up. One thing about this the detectives and sherriff need to do their jobs instead of going to the prisoner and giving them plea bargains to tell lies to frame these boys. Stop going by hearsay and know the truth.

If you know the truth then tell me what kind of evidence or lies Oglethorpe Co. has to keep these boys in jail. Details P;ease.

They had evidence in order to lock them up in the first place and they have done almost two years.

The new trail is set for Dec.7, 2009.
