The Bisbee Forum is closing shop on October 15, though all the error messages and re-directs one gets even today indicates that the maggots are already feasting. I could write a lengthy treatise on what went wrong with the Forum -- but Bill E. already knows. Begun with great promise, its death is sad but expected. It follows the original Forum, the Marquee, Nosey Parker News (though that remains as a part of a sourdough site, which is sorta fitting!), and the dead-and-stinking-though-not-y et-buried "Politics Under the B" (home of the world's second-worst Web design and graphics, The Board Even Binky Was Bored By, and no posts since June 21). We are left with Topix and its current state of exhaustion. Can it recover any vitality without being hijacked yet again by the usual offenders?

This place will survive despite the obsessive lunatics and wing nuts. People seem to enjoy anarchy and the lack of organized moderation here. I think we know the limits and those who don't or who choose to use this forum to hurt other people eventually get banned. It's nice when they're gone, isn't it?

One would hope you aren't trying to stir the pot, and violate the terms of the cease-fire.

Didn't it shut down because the person running it turned chicken and started censoring and controlling what people could post?
