With TBI joining the investigation, they will get to the bottom of the allegations, and find out whether or not the charges have merit.
However, just because one person is suspected of doing something wrong that doesn't mean that the rest of the persons in the city government have done anything wrong. That is called guilt by association, and with this person's position, he comes in contact with a whole host of people on a daily basis. That does not mean that they are doing anything wrong, they just have to deal with the person in the performance of their duties.
I think that people should stop gossiping and wait until the facts come out, before passing judgment.
People have to understand that an investigation cannot be done overnight, and that as soon as the facts are known, the officials in Graysville will let the public know what the investigation revealed.
In addition, many of the people in city government are sworn to secrecy by the TBI to not disclose any of the details of the investigation. Unless the want to be charged with hindering an investigation. I do not blame the officials of Graysville for not commenting to the media, it is best to let the TBI announce the results of their investigation.
After which the city can decide what avenue they wish to pursue in regard to the matter.

The TBI investigation has been hindered/compromised by chief mahoney. He has done some things Which will soon come to light. As it has been said more than one time. He was there, he should have secured the evidence at the time, he didn't do so, because it most likely wasn't there to secure. The officer suspended left to transport the suspect to jail. So who had opportunity, who supposedly left it in a drawer, or locker, he doesn't even know. Mahoney along with every officer that was involved should have been suspended until an investigation was done, not just one. The officer suspended has kept his mouth shut, being the professional that he is, because speculation and gossip, can go a long way in hurting an innocent person. He has no internet access, so he can't get on topix to even defend himself. People who really know him know he isn't capable of what has allegedly been done. It will all come out in the wash as they say. I hear spando has been fired, imagine that. wonder what for?....... anybody know?

Hey Chief baloney, i mean mahoney, why don't you go to the herald news and ruin spandoodoo, like you did officer Higgins? Inquiring minds want to know. Maybe we should call spandoodoo and ask him why he's fired. Is it that the heat in the kitchen was getting too hot and you had to take your chances firing spandoodoo hoping it won't backfire on you. I bet he knows plenty of stuff about you, wouldn't surprise me if he had a report in the Herald news himself. You know telling the truth about how you covered up the missing evidence, and used it to get rid of Higgins? What's the matter with you bozo. Kiss your race goodbye again. How many times you run for sheriff? You couldn't even get elected constable in that county again. I heard you blamed that on Higgins too. I know and have seen you riding across the mountain playing constable when you were constable, drinking beer, how dare you pull somebody over when you yourself were breaking the law. You still are breaking the law. Hindering an investigation with your lies. I hope you get locked up. Maybe they'll have pity on you and send you to the Jesus Center. Instead of prison, they house state prisoners you know. I think Ronnie Hitchcock is great, and he is trying to make a difference in the lives of those who have made mistakes. Yay for you Ronnie.

If that was true, the TBI can and will take Spandau down also. There is one officer that the TBI is looking at. Officer Higgins, not Spandau,Mahoney, ect. They don't cut deals.

If that is the case then TBI will do something about him hindering the investigation. However, in the mean time, we should all wait until the investigation is complete and the TBI has issued their final report in the matter.
If there is criminal wrongdoing then they will file charges, and the person will have to face the consequences of their actions. However, the mayor, city council and all involved have been sworn to secrecy by the TBI and told they they could face charges for talking about the investigation, until it is completed.
If the person is innocent then the TBI will find out during the course of their investigation.
As for the Chief securing the evidence, that is one of the first thing that officers are taught is the chain of custody in regard to evidence. I am painfully aware of this even in my job, that you secure the evidence, first and foremost. I have always been taught that with evidence, you do not let a large number of people handle the evidence, because each person would have to go to court and testify about their handling of the evidence in question.
As for being suspended, that could be overruled by the size of the city and the limited number of officers to cover the city and provide security for the citizens at large.
I am sure that the TBI will not allow anyone to hinder or blck them in their investigation of the matter regardless of their packing order in the department or city government.
That is why I have chosen to wait until the investigation is complete before passing judgment on anyone involved in the matter.

There isnt an ongoing investigation anymore. There are no charges. POST has not started to decertify the officer. Someone is not telling the truth. Why doesnt the Rhea County Herald contact TBI and check on the status of the investigation? Or is it to hard to really search for the truth! Why doesn't the City board members contact the TBI and check on the status of the investigation? Its been 4 months.
