Right now I'm for Rick Santorum with Ron Paul as his running mate. I've been listening to his ideas and goals and I like what I hear. And he is novel enough to beat Obama.

It's a long shot, Joe.

I like Santorum also - he runs even with Romney against BOBO at the moment.

The only way you get there is if Santorum wins more delegates than Romney (unlikely), or Romney fails to come into the convention with enough delegates to win on the first ballot. Even then, if it goes to a brokered convention, Santorum is unlikely to be who they turn to - it'll be open season again, and more likely we'd see a "draft Ryan/Christie/Mitch Daniels/<others> ..." result in that situation.

I don't know about a Santorum-Paul ticket - seems even a longer shot. Paul's a crotchety old so-and-so, and it's not clear why he'd agree to play 2nd fiddle, unless there's something in it for Rand Paul.

I agree with Teddys analysis which is spot on, but Santorum won't even get the nomination, he is too narrowly defined. The reality is our politics are mere personality contests where the least informed get the negate the votes of the most informed concientious voters, ergo obama gets elected and probably again.
