Locals dont go to our beach. We go up the river or to the Islands. If your expecting our beaches to be like Gulf Shores or Florida then you are mistaken. The water is mostly calm and brown not blue and pristine like Florida. Our storm drains empty into the beach and occasionally overflowing sewage gets into the storm drains emptying into the gulf. Try Gulf Shores or Orange beach or Pensacola. You wouldnt wanna ruin your first trip on a dump like this place!

About the best answer your going to get guy. If you do swim avoid the 3 and 4 eyed fish, the local fisherman tell me they're poisonous.

The only time we go to Biloxi beach is after Dope Smugglers dump their load and ditch their plane. Then we all go down and comb the beach, lol

The water isn't safe to swim in. They had a nasty case of red tide several yrs. back where people got sick and tons of fish died and washed up on the beach.

I suggest heading either into Texas -- but that's a ways away. You have to go all the way down towards Corpus Christi to get a decent beach in Texas. Alabama's beaches are very over-rated as well.

Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are filled with too many tourists and hicks and the water isn't that nice. Go to Pensacola or further east.

If you want real water -- go to Destin or further towards Panama City.

And if you want REAL beaches then go to the Atlantic Coast or down toward Tampa. Because frankly most Gulf of Mexico beaches are nasty and ugly.

If you want *real* blue ocean water, go to Daytona. Or if you can't afford to go that far, Destin or Panama City. Those are the closest things you'll find to a real beach around these parts.
