If a non-resident business owner would have gotten his way early last year the department would have been disbanded and the force contracted out, all because they "because they supported different candidates for City Council"and wanted what the non-resident business owner "considered an unfair portion of the budget." (see Ryan Hagen's 12-27 article in the Sun). Congrats CPD on 125 years!

We forget that the Earps. The lawmen how were widely known for ther participation in the gunfight and came to colton in a train that Is no more. thank to all and keep the fire buring at the OK Corral in Tombstone, Ariz., but in Colton he's celebrated as the man who became the city's first marshal in 1887. How was paid a large amuont for that time. P.S The Colton Crossing was the site of one of the more notable frog wars in American railroad history. Think of our history lost.

I think it is rather unfortunate that two of the city council members, both of whom have close ties with the aforementioned non-resident business owner, feels the commemorative badges are inappropriate and do not want the officers to wear them.

Why is it that on most of your posts, on this and other topics, you keep referring to this "non-resident business owner"? You must know by now that your not going to bate him into responding with your phishing. I believe he is smarter than that. It's really getting old. Move on please.

You ducked the question as usual. As to your question. I don't try to stop anyone to voice their opinions. Just questioning the continual remarks about some "non-resident business man" It just doesn't make any sense to the reader.

How do YOU feel about the new badges?

Time will tell wrote: How do YOU feel about the new badges? While it is a good anniversary design, it should not be an "option" to wear and not for a full year. Either 'all' officers should wear it,or none, and only for perhaps a week during the city's anniversary celebration. This is not 1887 and Colton's police officers should wear a badge commensurate with the uniform and the times.

This is the same argument that the non-resident business owner's ventriloquist dummy on the dais was espousing.
