Isn't property taxes enough? I have not complained about how much I have been paying, but it has consistently been rising even though my property values are down. It's tough out here and unless it significantly lowers my property taxes I can not give more. I would much rather put money in the schools at least that would raise property value and bring more people in.

it seems it is always government jobs at stake.. perhaps there is too much governmment
|

Remember Nobama saying create or save 3 millions jobs? The save would be Government jobs that never go away. Heck Jenny just hired 100+ to help out at the UIA. Welcome to life in Walker. |

let 'er rip! Obama is gonna hurt ya worse anyway. Socialism is next then anarchy

If like Walker property tax is cut in half, this may not be such a bad thing. Unless of course no one in Wyoming is making an income, which is possible in today's economy.

taxes can be lowered if we would all stand together and demand it make public news and make your view known

NO CITY INCOME TAX >>>>>>> > THAT IS WHY I MOVED HERE!!!!!!!
|
|||
I don't like taxes and do not want more taxes. I do consider an income tax potentially less intrusive than are already high property taxes. Even if I pay the same amount to income tax as I do for property tax since it would be spread through out the year. Currently I pay more property tax than many with more valuable homes since I bought it when the market was higher. If we cut taxes with no replacements of income insight that will only hurt our community, property values and schools. Lets give this income tax a whirl as long as property taxes are lowered in the process. |

1 I really don't see the difference between paying income tax or higher property taxes. This plan is less about raising taxes than it is about dividing them more equally. New home buyers pay much higher taxes than those that bought their homes 15 years ago and I suspect they make less money. I would like to see the plan before deciding their idiots. |

1 Certainly its fair that renters and property owners that earn more pay less just because they have owned their property longer. More taxes, it cost money to live in a city worth living in. This is the local level we need to take care of ourselves. Since I don't want to live in a slum I must be one of those idiots. |

you want to live in a "better" city, with a city income tax look next door. Move to Grand Rapids.hmmmm no sidewalks plowed,no leaf and spring cleanup. Oh and the "GREAT ' GRPS what more could you ask for? |
||||
|
Wyoming is not GR. Grand Rapids has a terrible habit of shouting its self in the foot. They wait until it is to late and then agrees to change. How many years does Wyoming have to operate with a deficit before they make things happen. The mayor is jumping ship and nothing seems to be happening. Lets at least discuss the possibility of an income tax. As for those that refer to Little Mexico lets don't forget the single fastest growing segment of our economy is now and has always been new emigrants.

If You Become A Severian Citizen You Can Stop Paying Most ALL Taxes like your Weekly Checks Income Taxes...
I am not sure how it all works i just heard about it, as far as i know you will need to give up being an American Citizen which is not that cool but the tax part can save you lots of money. I also think since you will no longer be an American Citizen sometimes you could get paid up to $1,000,000 USD that's 1 Millions Dollars for your Social Security Number...... If anyone else knows more about it i would be interested in how it fully works... ( Any Info Would Help ) |
