Troubling times in Mabton

I hope Nick didnt mean to sound racist. But poor choice of words. Mayor Herrera let all this power go to her head. Unfortunetly citizens dont go to council meetings to voice their concerns. The council members cant do it all themselves, they try but Herrera just outright disregards the ordinace's and policy's. I dont think a strong mayor form of government means to be a dictatorship. This why we elected 1 Mayor and 5 Councel members. Mabton citizens need step up and be informed.

I think that all the council members should grow up and work together. Especially Mario who does he think he is, it sound that he really know when he doing. I think that EVERY council should help out the mayor with the budget not against her, and for Angel everyone knows that you want the mayor position, and for Oping why isn't she say much since she worked for the city hall, she should of spoken up about what was happening inside the city hall when she was working there, maybe the city won't be in this hole. If Angel runs for the mayor, I think there will be alots of whining in the council. When I read the paper who's name appears in the paper everytime there is a council meeting Angel and Mario, for Mario you a cry baby and thinks that knows everythink, and weren't you (Mario)working on the budget and thought it was almost final. DON'T YOU KNOW WHAT TEAMWORK IS?

i think the mayor needs to give up and step down already..shes to much and is on a power trip

I think that we should all just let the person that we voted as mayor do her job..she was new to being a mayor, and obviously the citizens of Mabton thought she was an obvious choice because she was voted in..and as for the council..i think that they are actually the ones that ALL need to be replaced..they are all out of whack and need to come together to straighten out the mess that the WHOLE current council could have worked together to avoid!

Can we please be adults. Our small community is being talked about all over the nation and we are being laughed at. Then we go prove to the world that we can't even debate our concerns with personal attacks, gossip and name calling. We need to be productive citizens and do positive things to keep the dignity that our communiry still has.

I just want to speak up for the Mayor...none of us would want her job. Trying to keep the peace not only in the town but on a clearly divided council would be very difficult. I know these people and their hearts are in the right place. I, too, hate it when people curse or threaten others over this forum. I absolutely loved working in Mabton and miss it. This is how I keep up (this and the online version of the Daily Sun) and am saddened when I read such disrespect.
We have a political process for a reason and come election time the people of Mabton will speak up and vote for the people they believe best serves their interest in Mabton.
