Developer hired illegal workers | The Columbus Dispatch

People are amazingly able to be "good" whatevers--while at the same time justifying or minimizing in their own minds the wrongs they may be committing. In this case, I really doubt that this family didn't know what was going on. Did they never visit the job sites? Did they just choose to ignore the clues? Did they minimize it by using the "these are people that want to work" and "how do I know for sure" and "if I don't I can't compete" and "Americans don't want these jobs" etc etc excuses?

The bottom line is, using illegals and paying them low wages is a tactic meant to enrich the business owner. And the owners know that they are doing it.

The scariest thing as an American I see in this whole thing... Gunsorek is currently being judged based on the article written in the dispatch which did not disclose all information. We as Americans are supposed to have rights and a fair trial. In this case I would be afraid to live in Columbus, Ohio! Sounds like our State government has already set everything into play. Would anyone in this case scenario be able to have a "Fair Trial".

As a business owner. Yes you are held responsible. As large of company as Anchor is you hire "employees" to do these jobs. Supervisors, Managers, On-Site people to oversee the work being done. You cannot be everywhere every minute of he day. You put your trust in their ability, honesty, and communications to you. This is an eye opener for every business owner in this country. I believe their was either a trust in these employees which had a major breakdown when this incident started. The fall guy becomes who owns the business.

Unions have license to steal, and thus force American companies to send work overseas; undocumented workers in America cut out all the waste and expense of transporting materials back and forth across the borders and oceans... seams that there is no real difference between sending jobs overseas or bringing workers here from overseas. Why all the fuss. America was born of unbridled immigration, don't be so selfish just because you are an American citizen. Not too many Americans out there can, would, or know how to work as hard or fast as a Mexican can for minimum wage. Get off your lazy asses and put the "illegals" out of work the fair way..... Hard work!
