As part of a book project I am seeking information on Irish born (Falcarragh, County Donegal) American Civil War Medal of Honor winner Private MICHAEL DOUGHERTY. Dougherty served in Company B, 13th Pennsylvania Cavalry. At Jefferson, Virginia 12 October 1863, Private Dougherty “At the head of a detachment of his company dashed across an open field, exposed to a deadly fire from the enemy, and succeeded in dislodging them from an unoccupied house, which he and his comrades defended for several hours against repeated attacks, thus preventing the enemy from flanking the position of the Union forces,” earning the distinguished award.
Mr. Dougherty settled in Bristol, Pennsylvania after the war and died on February 19,1930. He is buried in St Mark's Cemetery, Bristol.

Any information regarding Mr. Dougherty - family, occupation, obituary, etc., would be greatly appreciated and fully acknowledged.

Hello I may not have much to add but I just found out that my GGrandfather Edward F Dougherty (1872 Newark, NY - 1935 Lowell, MA) is related to Private Michael Dougherty. I just started trying to link both branches of this tree. I feel confident that I will in time be able to accomplish this task at hand. If anyone would like to collaborate with me also please contact me at Craig J Dougherty IrishKungFu1@yahoo.com

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Gemini

It's easy to become distracted and confused because your mind is wandering about in all sorts of different directions. You're also in a highly impressionable state so will believe almost anything you're told now, whether it's true or a total flight of fancy. Be wary of muddling others by only telling them half the story or letting your imagination fill in any gaps.
