This poll makes no sense...
keep it from them, or wait. Huh? The options should be
Tell them
don't tell them
I-am no 1

IF my choices were:

A. Tell them
B. Don't tell them

I would pick "A". As a daughter myself I would want to know...as a mother, it would be difficult to find the words to tell them (other than saying... I'm going to die --- such a harsh thing to say or hear). I guess I would just sit down with the facts, explanation of how "I" plan on preparing for my final stretch of life and discuss any options of pro-longing my life.

I think putting a time frame on life (even when there are no alternatives to pro-long life) is wrong. I sometimes think when I hear "they have 2 weeks to 6 months to live" it puts an un-needed stress on an already stressful, sad reality. We all must die at some point and having a time frame to live our final days is not something I personally would want to know...I don't need X amount of days to know that every moment of my life and those I love should be cherished.

I guess stepping back and thinking about it (as I am responding to the post)...I would want to know if one of my loved ones where going to die ONLY because them having that knowledge and living with that fact (hiding it and dwelling on it) alone would be terrible...being there for them and helping through that time would give me a sense of showing them the strength of our love and I guess a way to help in some way alleviate some of the stress. On the flip side --- knowing I was going to die (told by a doctor...other than an unexpected death) or even knowing a loved one was going to die would be hard to face --- with or without loved ones by my side.

i would tell them. i lost my mom suddenly and it was the hurtest thing ever. i talked to her the night before and the next day she was gone. when you lose somone that way its harder to get through and even harder to accept. losing someone is always hard but when you know it going to happen like we did with my grandma..then you have time to enjoy each other..do specail things and built more memories..you know its coming and its hard but you also understand and you also let go a little easier for them not to suffer!! ive lost someone both ways and it hurts so much but i know that the unknown sudden one is alot harder to deal with

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Taurus

Someone is very short-tempered, and they're liable to fly off the handle at a moment's notice. Maybe they're feeling vulnerable in some way or are desperately trying to defend what they see as their territory. Be sensitive to this and don't goad them into being even more irritable or upset than they are already. Frankly, it's just not worth it.
