LIRR to beef up patrols at crossings

This is a waste of money. The people who are going to go in front of the trains are too dumb to live and that train is just Darwin's way of removing them from the gene pool.

If you don't know to stay out of the way of the multi-ton vehicle traveling at 50MPH, moving along a very, very, very, very, very, very, very fixed path....yeah, you deserve to go.

Only in New York........I think they should appoint Spitzer as the Chief Crossing Guard.......I hear he needs the work.

What a joke, the LIRR police are never available for problems on the rr or at stations. In my career with the NCPD any time there was a call on their property they were "respoding from East Suffolk with an extended ETA, and never semmed to make it there.

Now police have to babysit grade crossings. If people choose to take their lives in their hands by thinking they can beat a train, go right ahead. Just let me be nearby so I can laugh my ass off as you are splattered all over the street. First they need babysitters for gap, now babysitters for grade crossings. There are not enough babysitters for all the idiots who go around lowered gates and can not step over a space in the ground!

Not nearly as sick as the a-holes who go around lowered crossing gates. They are down for a REASON people - and the reason is NOT because they look pretty all lit up.

How the heck do you police stupidity?
At the Bethpage crossing, not only do they have gates and flashing lights, they also have a sign that flashes that a train is coming and sure as shootin' some dipstick gets run over at that crossing while everything is flashing a ringing. Now we need someone to physically hold these morons back? I'm not saying that stupidity warrants the death penalty, but these dopes have no one to blame but themselves.

In Europe, Germany, Swiss and nearby counties use Video cameras and tape them on every railroad gates to watch them and caught them.

Thank you for wasting more taxpayer's money on something so ridiculous. If people feel the need to cross the tracks when the gates are down, the bells are ringing and the lights are flashing....and they get hit....it is just one more stupid idiot off this planet. If they die, they deserved it.

NCPD Highway was at the East Rockaway Station tonoght. I saw him pull over a knucklehead who just had to wait on the wrong side of the tracks.
