Go ahead and sell. You are not making money anyway. Even your restaurants are bad.

Don't believe what you read in the news. Politicians and people to separate you from your money will always lie about what they do with it.
Todd Eachus as all legislators do ,get $163.00 a day for every day they spend in Harrisburg. This on top of the 101 days it took to get a budget passed and they don't have to produce receipts for expenditures.
Eachus owns a house in Harrisburg and pays off his mortgage with this per diem.
Lets start adding it up ? whoops, we don't know how many days they actually are in Harrisburg so we can't figure out what they are actually raking in . No receipts, no transparency.
Maybe we could attach a lien on the house or a clause that when the sale of this house goes on the market the profit can be used to reduce the budget.

What a relief they are rumors, I heard this too. I'd rather see a casino there than an empty building.

Construction to resume on the hotel within weeks. Even if the SANDS is sold, so what? Who cares what name is on the sign outside?

Couldn't have said it better. Try to get a drink in the non-smoking area! Forget it. Put a bar in the non-smoking area and let the people in the bar smoke. Stupid and greedy ideal. The sands play to the smokers. Went one time and had to leave after 1 hr clothes smelled of smoke, couldnn't eat because of the smoke and again couldn't even buy a drink. The place stinks.

If I was Mayor Callahan, if the Sands cannot part with some of the millions it makes daily, and holds to its promise of finishing the hotel, mall, and c.center.. well then he can tell his city streets department, to work on every street near that casino, and prevent traffic from getting anywhere close. They'll get the picture soon enough.

They'll get the picture soon enough. You're getting it wrong. There is a large body of people that were against this casino or any in the city limits of Bethlehem but the powers to be were like sheep led to the slaughter. Gordie Mowrer was against the casino in the beginning at the Broughal meeting. He was overwhelmed by all the silk suits and went along with it. Now he says he thinks we were duped from the start. He didn't have the nerve to speak at the meeting in opposition to gambling in Bethlehem , now he wants to sit on the fence and wait for the news, good or bad. He's like a gas station owner that wants to build a station and convenience store in your block and tells you he wants to be a good neighbor. You don't live near the Casino Gordie and we know you wouldn't want to. Get a set and get off the fence, you've been in politics too long for any good you brought to the City of Bethlehem including that concrete mall and white christmas lights for the tour buses on Hayes st.

Can't believe everything you read in the Express-times. Just print rumors instead of doing some investigative work. Times reporters don't back up a story because it might be unfounded thus losing its sensationalism.

Funny to hear this. Sands must not be making the tons of money they were expecting.
The real loser here is the .gov. They thought they were gonna have easy money here, skimming off casino revenues to fill the state and local coffers in lieu of unpopular spending cuts and tax increases.
So much for banking on entertainment to pay the freight.

I think the casino is one of the best things to happen to the Lehigh Valley in addition to the Coca Coca Plant - Iron Pigs Baseball. At least the casino is clean, safe, and a happy to place to go an meet people, listen to DJs or live bands. And the south side will shine again like years ago when the steel property thrived. . . build it and they will come . . Art Quest; Muskifest; Celtic Classic; Chrsitmas, etc. Way to go Mayor Callahan

The gov. isn't getting all the tax revenues that they've been making out to the people as promised. Where's the outcry from the people?! How come nobody says a darn thing about the corruption in this state??!! It's disgusting!!!

The complainers are the same people who didn't want the Sands built in the first place. Boo freakin' hoo. The Sands along with all the other casinos are what they are. Visit them or don't. Your choice. But enough whinning already. Some of you wont be happy til they tear the place down and put the vacant lot back. That would cheer you up. Right?
