We don't have the MONEY.. when we arent spending money recovering banks that made horrible decisions, and spending money recovering motor companies and insurance agencies that don't know how to run a business, and MOST IMPORTANTLY when we save money by bringing our young men and women back from those foreign dangerous lands. THEN, we might be able to afford healthcare.
OR HERE IS AN IDEA ..
People who are unemplyed, on welfare, not citizens etc .. can get government healthcare if they do 8-10 hours per week community/county/federal service. Roads to clean, things to paint, litter to pickup, local/state/national parks to work in, etc. Let them earn it, like I do.

I thought Mayor Callahan had better sense than to align himself with left wing kooks. He has become a clown.

These Move On.org types don't know the constitution, don't know basic economics and believe Big government is their god. Our country is being taken over by immoral, uneducated fools.

We need Health Care Reform now, and the public healthcare option. Everytime healthcare goes through reform people panic, this is nothing new. There is nothing to fear, existing plans will only get better.

There are Millions of people in the U.S. without coverage but can't afford it's high cost. I think it's about time healthcare is made affordable to all Americans. The cost of medications are also in need of a makeover.

Go Callahan !!

Maybe Mr. Callahan should do the job he was hired to do and stop campaigning for another job on the tax payer’s nickel. Also how many of your Moveon.org cronies were actually from Bethlehem. You want to do something how about fixing the problems in Bethlehem and keep the carpet baggers out of our town, moveon.org , acorn and any others with no times to Bethlehem.

Here’s an independent thought for you, it’s organizations like moveon.org that will eventually ruin this country. You apparently cannot come up with a rational argument so you resort to stupid statements like “where does the acorn comment come from, Glenn Beck” apparently you have no idea what an independent thought is. Keep spewing the Liberal talking points.

"Cronies?" "Carpet baggers?" Do you even know what Moveon.org is. There is civil and political Moveon.org members. Seems like you have nothing to say but "name-calling." At least these people are trying to do something instead of sitting on their butts and complaining. That is their right.

You are right. Instead of debating the issues. Name calling is the norm. That is all the liberals can do at this point. Politics of personal destruction

I thought the piece on the news yesterday made the Mayor look uneducated and uninformed. He can say he wants about this..but in reality he won't put himself under the gov't care. He knows the truth but is not willing to accept the fact that our health care will be ruined. I would have more respect for gov't officials, if they will put themselves in the same option. And we know they won't.

I applaud Charlie Dent for standing up and voting for the voice of his people. Like Mr Dent says above...Employers will be cancelling their employee's insurance and they will be driven into the government program. All the while our ELECTED officials won't even be part of it!!! Wake up Move-on....and seriously...move out!!!

Healthcare is not a RIGHT? When will you people get it? I'm sorry there are honest people out there struggling, but believe it or not, there are government programs to help them. Too bad all the illegals in this country put a burden on that system!!!

Stand firm Charlie. Don't let these people change your mind. Taxpayers are sick of higher taxes for bailouts and bums. Let the government fix medicare and medicaid first, then proceed with their takeover of health care.

Great idea, but it will never happen. Bums milking the system are the lifeblood of the democratic party.
