Career services seems to be doing too little, too late. With only 19.7% of seniors graduating with a job - its really tough out there.
Students often start looking for jobs after they graduate - but in reality the job search should start the day you enter college. You can short list the possible fields/ industries of interest and utilize the summer to gain experience through internships. Use networking tools - online and through events in the city the student is in. This is what we tell our students at After the Tassel, Inc. A local Greensboro company that helps students start their careers and get jobs within the community. |
