If this is the same gocery chain that exists on South 4th Street in Allentown then it will be a dump. That freakin store is filthy and not a soul in the place speaks English.

There are ghetto dwellers in Bethlehem now. SO, where do you want them to shop? Wegmans?

The familiar sound of Lehigh Valley residents and their open-mindedness and fairness when it comes to people in their community. I see even legitimate businesses that will employ people and bring income into their communities aren't even safe from rude and biased comments.
I live on 3rd and Hamilton, by the way, and have shopped at Price Rite; and they may not have the brand name items and typical grocery store decor that many have come to expect, but the quality is still the same as GIANT, WEGMAN'S, etc and good for those of us who are budget-minded.

I went to one a few times and yes there are some english people. For the one on eight ave I think considering the community for the elderly if name brand don't mean anything it is truley saving them some money. Instead of just b itching help change things but most people just like to put there two sense instead of making a change!!!!!!!

I've never been to one. I live on 8th Avenue so I'm interesting in comparing it's image, presentation and overall prices. I shop at GIANT on Penn. Ave. and they're not getting any cheaper, however, I like GIANT.

I went to the website of this place and they've got quite a few stores in Mass., Conn. and Rhode Island as well. They're also HQ'd in Connecticut. I wonder if they're going to cater to the feel of B-Town or create another dump like the one I've heard about in A-Town.

We don't need anymore discount crap food stores. Plus you won't get foot traffic their and the place will go down hill fact. I wish it were a COSTCO...

Why west Bethlehem? I would much rather have a WHOLE FOODS market. I sure hope they don't put signs in Spanish like they do at the Giant on Union - that is so annoying. LEARN English if you want to live here! I don't see any signs in German (my heritage) to cater to me...do you? I sure hope this doesn't bring the people from East Allentown over this way....I like speaking English when I shop!

I hope you are right to them catering to elderly rather than welfare...however, I do like a good deal!

I wonder what the new tenants of the "luxury" apartments are going to think when they find out a PriceRite is going to be their new neighbor?

Tear-down places that manufacture products, and build places that sell junk, and the results will be quite predictable.

Unbelievable. Who is the decision maker on something like this.

If what everyone is saying is true, a store like this belongs in the middle of Hanover Avenue...NOT on the edge of downtown Bethlehem.

Alfonso, thanks for the comment, but let's be realistic, they aren't competing with Wegman's and I guarantee the quality will not be the same. Compare if to Aldi's and I would mostly agree with you.

WHOLE FOODS would seem to be more of a good fit for the area. I wonder if they did their homework at all regarding the demographic of the area. I wonder if they pondered:

"I'm leaving my colonial, eccentric home (most in my neighborhood are) in the pleasant west side so I can go save 40% on my private label groceries! Just what I was hoping for! The migration of those in east Allentown bother me, too. That location in right off 378 - easy access from A-town. Damn IT! I live in the west side for a particular reason...Now it's coming to ME...BAH!!!!!

For some reason I feel a spree of cars being broken into in that luxury apartment complex...
