"This is why I will review each budget item line by line and be the financial watchdog the city needs"

How many other candidates in the past ran and won a City Council seat on this "watchdog" platform? How many of them are actual "watchdogs"? Answer... a big fat NONE!!! The city is bankrupt. It has taxed and spent its residents and businesses to debt. It thinks the "casino" is the answer. Sometimes I wonder if the Simpsons cartoon isn't actually for real here in Bethlehem. I see it now... casinos, trains, green houses, and a another wannabe politician as the saviour of the City. Why can these guys simply run on a platform of just trying to do their best and not promise the world?

You ever been to a Bethlehem City Council meeting?

The chief 'negative force' is mayor airhead who sits there and doodles the whole time.

Its good to see the"peanut gallery" that attends council meetings also know how to use a computer. I am impressed. Mayor "airhead" graduated in the top 10 of his class at Liberty was a comenius scholar at Moravian College and graduated Cum Laude with a Degree in Biology. How about you a hole? Maybe he is bored by the sillyness of the council meetings.

Maybe if you didn't feel the need to lie, you would have some credibility?

Johnny did NOT graduate in the top 10 at LHS, maybe the top 10%, but not the top 10, and he was NOT a Comenius scholar.

My education is none of your business, but it's more extensive than his, and obviously yours.

If he's 'bored' with his work, perhaps he should resign? He's getting paid to pay attention at Council meetings, maybe if he did, Bethlehem wouldn't be getting sued for millions of dollars?

Now go do some fund raising, it looks like there's an abortion to be paid for.

Somehow in my 30+ years of being in the private sector, I never placed much stock in titles or prior accomplishments, having seen enough over hyped academic performers fail miserably in the real world... So I'd say that what you're crowing about for Callahan (or maybe on your own behalf...)is not an automatic to being an effective mayor...

I usually get past the resume pretty quickly to the crux of the person...sometimes they do not resemble that which they achieved in the academic world...

You knew this but you posted what you did anyway. It is the ENDS that count, NEVER the means to an unfulfilled end!

Yep, another lawyer...Shakespeare was right! All legalism and not a lick of common sense in far too many of them.

Another lawyer, they seem to have all the answers. And having a great education doesn't give you great leadership abilities. But if you get a lawyer, you will have to parse every sentence.

I cannot stand people that use blogs as an outlet to perpetuate ridiculous rumors. The Mayor IS A COMENIUS SCHOLAR, look it up idiot. Lets get past the resume, he is an EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE MAYOR whose record, based on the FACTS, speaks for itself.

I was only commenting on the airhead remark. If you want to get into accomplishments as Mayor there is not enough room in the blog box.

He couldn't care less about Bethlehem, the only thing he's interested in is padding his resume. The City has an amazing number of huge lawsuits pending against it, the vast majority of which he could have prevented. He doesn't care, he'll be long gone before the taxpayers have to pay up.

You already lied about his class rank, and the fact that you are openly posting under a number of names doesn't add much to your already minimal credibility.

Which are you, the wife or the girlfriend?

You certainly aren't Vito, he can't write.

Good luck Mike-- we need some young people with good heads on their shoulders. People that do not know Mike should not judge him. He has lived in Bethlehem his whole life and I am sure he will work to help promote a better Bethlehem. This article was about Mike, not the mayor. Before you bash him for being a lawyer--find out what kind of a lawyer he is. You will find he is a good guy who will work hard for all the people in Bethlehem.

Just what we need a biologist running the city. The sewage works would seem more appropriate.

Great another cardboard cutout like Reynolds. Is anyone out there who is not in the Mayors pocket.

Also this guy should have a little more experience. Handpicked candidates are a pain.

I'm going to give Recchiuti a chance. From his website it looks like he is smart and cares about the city. Isn't that what Bethlehem needs?

How old is Belinski anyway--she has to be almost 80 years old. Time for her to go.

I'm willing to give Recchiuti consideration as long as he is independent and not in the city administration's back pocket like some on Council. I don't care if he or any of them end up supporting Callahan's proposals as long as they pose questions and force the administration to prove why it's good for Bethlehem.

As for the so-called 'peanut gallery,' at least they show up!

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Aries

Don't get embroiled in a bad-tempered skirmish today, for it might turn into more than that if you aren't careful. Everyone seems to be ratty and argumentative, but once you let the first spat take place it's effectively declaring open season. Even though things seem out-of-joint, keep your lines of communication open.
