Why does Pittsburgh suck for single guys?

Before anyone flames me for this post, keep in mind that this is a rather common consensus. Believe me, I know how you Pittsburghers LOVE to argue. I've lived here my whole life...But really...If you for whatever reason disagree with my opinion about how lousy Pittsburgh is for single guys, just please keep it to yourself. I'm asking a question here, that's all.

So...Why does it suck? I'm a white, average guy in my early 30's. I have no problem hooking up in other cities. Being that this is my hometown however, I've obviously spent way more time in this scene than I have anywhere else. Why is it then, that after a DECADE sampling the Pittsburgh nightlife, I've hooked up with.....ONE girl. One! Lol! How pathetic is that?

Drop me in any other city and it's easy as can be. What's with Pittsburgh girls? Seriously? What makes them so stuck up? Why is the bar scene around here, which logic would suggest should be for singles, tainted with married women or women with boyfriends? I wouldn't want my wife or girlfriend (if I had either) going out to a bar every weekend teasing single guys! God, what's with these people around here?

F**king weirdos around here. That's sad that I say that, considering this is where I'm from. I'm just glad I get out of here as much as I do, and I get to see that it's not like this everywhere. If I thought the rest of the world was like this, I would have killed myself a long time ago.

Didn't the LA Fitness shooter have problems being single. I suggest try getting a dog if your lonely before you take someone's life.

I have been to Pittsburgh twice on business and hooked up both times. The women were some of the most amazing and classy i've been with. Just tell people you are from out of town and maybe you will score.

Maybe you should try shopping at a different store nothing really good comes out of a bar.
It must be horrible to be in your thirties, single, free and in control of you own life.
Hurry up and get hooked up better yet get married and suffer like the rest of us.

The Bettis grill worked for me last September. That chick was gorgeous and a freak as well.

Where the hell were you hanging out? Most of the women I've come in contact with are rather masculine, extremely tacky in their appearance (outdated hairstyles, gaudy jewelry, Steelers apparel, etc), yet though they were god's gift to men. Please enlighten me on these secret places where women go who can be described as "classy" and "amazing".

Speaking of pickup lines, I've got a buddy that swears by the simplest of them all:

"Wanna go fk?"

He says it works about 40% of the time. About 10% of the time he gets slapped in the face, and another 5% or so he is asked to leave the bar by bouncers after the girl rats to them. But hey, 40% ain't bad.

Anyone else ever use this approach. I was in Macon, GA once and hooked up with this incredibly hot 25 year old blonde chick even after I farted loudly (and it reeked) when I was introducing myself. She thought I was funny. In reality, I'd eaten General Tso's earlier in the day and humor had nothing to do with it.

I used to think like that, at times (not as severely as you do), until I found out that being too needy is a weapon against one's self. Don't worry about getting hooked up so dern much and just get yourself a collection of female friends to just hang out with to start. Then, be cool, not desperate, and observe how you act, conversation, and the likewise.

Psst... this brings upon a secret I've learned:
ENJOY YOUR SINGLE LIFE = ENJOYING YOURSELF = A WOMAN WILL ENJOY YOU.

If this fails, still move here to Atlanta in it's Midtown section and become an ex-heterosexual,(which will never be my option...)

Another thing is that Pittsburgh doesn't have a wide variety of nite life, maybe a few cool hang out spots to get a brew or eat, yes, but nothing really major like a bunch of dance clubs and what not.

If you are the nite life type, move to a nite life city...

The city at least has the South Side... it's the rest of the metro area that lacks diversity in entertainment opportunities.
