Today may be murder trial key

Matlock is a liar and is falsely testifying against Cearlock because he (Matlock) knows the TRUTH. Weinmann's family is being fooled by Matlock and his LIES. The DA's office should revoke Matlock's deal and charge him with first degree murder and let Jon Cearlock go free. There is clearly enough evidence to show that Jon Cearlock is INNOCENT, which convinced 10 of 12 jurors. May GOD bless Jon Cearlock and his family during this trying time and may the REAL TRUTH come out.

Matlock is a follower and not a leader. The truth is that Cearlock was the Skipper and Matlock was his Gilligan. Anybody who knew them for any length of time knew that. We used to call Cearlock "Ted Bundy" when he wasn't around - we weren't surprised when we heard about this crime. Maybe Matlock put poor Ms. Weinmann out of her misery behind the store, I don't know,but at the very least Cearlock probably forced himself on her, beat her to the point of cracking her skull, and left her to die. To believe Cearlock was innocent is the height of idiocy - especially if you knew them.

I am a friend of the family and I know in my heart that Jon did not committ this crime. Isn't it funny how your best friend, childhood friends will turn on you quickly for a raw deal. I know both of the defendents actually which made it very difficult for me. I do not think Jon is capable of murder no matter what the recent commenter said. You have to know someone better than just working with them. I would never give Jon the nickname "Ted Bundy" maybe more like "Larry the Cable Guy". Jon is always been a joker. There is one thing I will comment on is that I do believe Jordan is a follower and Jon's a leader but that does not amke anyone a murderer.

How can you really think Jon is innocent, and based on the evidence? Are you serious? He leaves with this woman, has sex with her, beats her, and then returns to the bar so that one of his friends can shoot her? Is that really what you believe? And as far as those of you who say they know Jon- well, if you know Jon, then you know that everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie. Those of us that grew up with him would ask him questions just to hear his made-up responses. Jordon is a good person. It's sad that he was pulled into this situation. And what's more sad is that some of you can't see the obvious truth. I hope the next trial is soon and quick, so that Jordon can move on with his life.

no one knows what really happened or who really commited the crime and no one probably ever will. jordan has been in some minor trouble with the law and wasn't he supposed to be in the military? was he AWOL at the time the crime occurred? I know both boys-young men-this whole thing has blown my mind. I wish them the best and hope they are holding up well. I also hope justice can be served for the family of the victim.

I know Jordan and Jon very well.I don't know what happened that night, but I know that Jordan does not have the heart to kill someone. It was a shock to hear this about either one of them. I am NOT saying that Jon did it. I am saying that I don't think everyone should bash Jordan. No one really knows the truth and everyone should think before they jump to conclusions. Jordan is a very kind loving person. I know both of them well and I couldn't imagine why anyone would do something like this.

I grew up with both of these guys and know them both very well. I'm not going to criticize anyone who cant defend themself but I know Jordan and he wouldn't do something like this. He has too good of a heart. Jordan just made a bad judgement call on where to draw the line on being a friend. Talk about a raw deal if you do something be a man and take the blame for it dont put it off on your buddy just because he had a lack of representation at the beginning of the trial. Any which way you look at it though I just feel sorry for the family of the victim and I hope justice is served for them.

I only really know Jon. Never really talked to Jordan...However, I know some things that Jordan has done and I am convinced that he is capable of murder. Notice I said capable...I wasn't there so I will not put the blame on either. I just hope that this all comes to an end soon. I know all of the families involved are drained by now and ready for it to be done with.

Although I grew up with both of these men I will say this. Jordan Matlock is a great man! A true friend! One how would lay down his life for someone!People change in there life and do things that they will regret for ever. However I still could'nt see him taking another persons life. For everyone writing in on this forum that thinks that they know so much about this case. Let me close by saying this. Only 2 people on this earth with the exception of the good lord know who killed who and what happen on that night. And unless someone admits it then it will stay that way until the end of time. So before you lay judgement on these men look yourself in the mirror.

I know john also for a small period of time and would have to say he is out of control. A wild as they come and would not put anything past him. Do not know the other guy. It is a shame either way. My best goes out to the families of everyone involved. Any one in b'ham that knows who this is hit me up. :)

ok.. i know both of these boys as well, and i feel as though know one will ever know who commited this horrible crime, but both were involved and that was evident, and if it was my mother, i would want both prosecuted.

I was a juror in this trial and I can tell you that the evidence presented said that both jon and jordan made huge mistakes that night...but to let jordan go was a huge mistake by the prosecutors...He is, in my mind and in the minds of 9 other jurors as well, the shooter. yes, Jon took her there, had sex with her, and beat her, which is wrong and he should be punished, but he is not the shooter. There was testimony that we were not allowed to hear at the trial the proves that jordan went to that crime scene, but during the trial, he lied and said he was never there...he is a liar, and a very bad man! A killer is loose....this is a sad story with a bad ending for everyone involved. My sympathy to the family, but I had no choice but to vote not guilty, because the state did not prove that jon was the shooter!

could someone post the outcome of this case? I have been trying to keep up with it but can not find any article posted after Aug. of 06. I would like to know if anyone and who was convicted of this horrific crime?

To 'Juror'...I agree with your statement that both men are guilty of a horrific crime and that letting Matlock plea makes a mockery of our legal system. Please indulge me in how you and '9 other jurors' came to the conclusion that Matlock was the shooter. What evidence did the jury have (and the public didn't) that allowed you to make this assumption? The 'public' evidence I've seen (in addition to somewhat knowing both men) doesn't point to Matlock as the trigger man...rather it soundly convicts Caerlock of murder and Matlock of obstruction for assisting in the cleanup. Just because Matlock took the plea doesn't make him guilty of murder. Don't penalize him because the inept attorneys made a very untimely offer when putting their deal on the table.

I think that what happened was TERRIBLE! It saddened my heart to hear that this crime was committed. Jon was a good guy growing up, but as a young man strayed in another direction. Do I think that he was capable to murder? Probably not if he was not under the influence. Anything is possible if intoxicated or drugged. I really hate it for this lady's family and I hate it for Jon's family. What was the final outcome??

Jon is a good man and I know he is not capable of such a horrible crime. I just hope the truth comes out and justice is served to the right person. I'm praying for my cousin Jon and his family. We all love you very much up here in Nebraska.

I see where some people have asked what has happend...well nothing yet...both are still in jail.....but think we should hear something within the next 4-6 months about what they are going to do.
