As for me, I find the ban on fireworks and more specifically the '"zero-tolerance" policy adopted by Urbandale to be purely anti-America. As an American/Iowan/Urbandalian, I have a god-given right to blow stuff up to celebrate our independence. Just think, over 100 years ago, our forefathers fought and won it's independence from the Germans with the intention of building a free nation. A nation to be built on life, liberty, and the pursuit to blow stuff up in firey awesomeness. What is July 4th without fireworks? Are we gonna let our crotchety Canadian neighbors win? To quote patriot John Boener, "Hell no we aren't!". So when those pesky socialist policeman come to your house and ask you if you have fireworks, what do you say? You say, "Get off my property you soviet spy! Yeah I have fireworks! Come the fourth, I plan to launch them hundreds of feet in the air and watch them explode with a boom of liberty and the colors will rain down in a shower of deregulated free-market capitalism." U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! Stand up for your rights Urbandale! Come the 4th, I want to see as many residents shooting off Missouri bought bottlerockets. I want to hear the cracks of blackcats from all around the metro. Let your voices, nay your FREEDOMWORKS be heard. As the great American hero, Jesus, once said, "Yippee Ki Yay mother trucker!"
