Officials hit the air to survey flood damage

Full story: www.minotdailynews.com

In recent weeks, local, state and federal officials have surveyed the Souris River from nearly every angle. Wedneday, they viewed it from a new one, high above the furious river. A contingent that included Minot Mayor Curt Zimbelman, North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple and Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk toured the zones affected by river flooding from Minot to Lake Darling in a Black Hawk helicopter.

And after all this surveying, studying and spending money, they came up with an answer. "Damn, that river is going to flood everything."

Everyone else is saying with global warming being unproven where are you going to rebuild your home?? Flood planes are predicted to be 50 feet higher if the polar caps are gone. at the rate they are leaving it may be under the 150 years previously estimated should global warming prove to be true. Man made or natural earth cycle it does seem a lot different now than the 60 years I've been around.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Capricorn

You feel like overindulging yourself in some way today, and why not? Throw caution to the wind and eat your way through a big bar of chocolate, or have a retail therapy session that leaves you reeling from the amount of money you've spent. There's a definite chance you could get carried away and tell a whopper of a story that has little resemblance to what really happened. What on earth has got into you?
