American Indian reservation reaping oil benefits

i am a civilian contractor working in Afghanistan doing heavy rebuild mechanic work, i am seeking a place that is small but growing, i am a 23 year diesel tech with cdl's, and single to relocate.
how do i contact the local new town businesses to let them know i am am available? instead of going through a temp agency? if for the right position with benefits i will resign from this contract and return home to start the travel to New Town, Harold.

What a joke!! All they are going to do is DRINK the oil money away. "Long-impoverished tribal members?!" Please why don't they go get a job like every other American Citizen has to? The Census Bureau in New Town was desperatley trying to get tribal members to work in 2009 and could not keep enough tribal members for the Census Bureau... they would all work 1-2 days then quite and it paid quite well!!

I can really appreciate your point of view regarding dirtiness as you do hail from one the most pure and clean states...New Jersey.
I am born and raised on the fort berthold indian reservation. I love that place and am sorry you did not find my home a good experience. There are many educated and hard working people in this area...facts are work and the aquisition of personal wealth isn't as important here as in New Jersey...people here value family, friends, and laughter.
It is interesting to me your distain and racist attitude. Get a clue...
I too have struggled with aspects of the indian culture but have learned to listen and not take myself so seriously. You could try it.

My husband works on the rigs in Newtown. He calls me everyday and shares some sort of impression or experience with the folks of Newtown and surrounding areas. He has met some of the most decent and caring folk in all of his travels throughout the US as a truck driver in Newtown. If they live in an impoverished or socially lacking enviornment I ask you, how is that any different than big city life. What a small mind and terrible mentality you have shown. They are termed "dirty drunken indians" as a way to describe them. Trust me, there are just as many "dirty drunken whitemen" per capita in the cities. If you don't like, stay away. Don't go there to take their money, food or ready acceptance. People like you don't deserve it.

Well if you don't like Native Americans reaping the benefits from the oil Anglo Saxons should of stayed in England or go back, we didn't ask anybody to come take our home land and push us onto resevations, and now that you have and since oil was discovered under it you want it back. GO HOME!

I find it insulting that someone would make a comment..like they would just drink it away.Fact is Natives are on the reservation because the govrnment thaught they was giving them waste land..the money is being spent on schools,hospitals,and trying to keep roads repaired that the oil companys are tearing up as fast as they can be repaired,they arent living much diffrent then they was 10 years ago,with exeptions of overdue improvements for education and health and homes..they arent just setting back collecting checks and stock piling money..they are spending millions of dollars a year for needed improvement..im white and i have to admit there is alcahol abuse in ever race,its about time they caught a lucky break,now people is complaining about it..The real problem is all the people coming here looking for jobs and to get rich..needs to go back to where they came from..we dont want you here..and we dont like the problems you have braught along with you!

there never was alot of jobs in new town until oil came..peole dont understand our way of life in north dakota..if you lived in new town 7 years ago you would have to drive 4 hours a day to and from work..because our state is very scattered..now people have alot of nerve to come from other states looking for work..and running our towns down while your here,PLEASE GO HOME..WE DONT WANT YOU HERE..WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

Ok, first of all I am white and live in New Town. My husbands boss is native and my husband is over quite a few natives at work. I have met many people that disagree with your point of view that we all need to go home. Do you even realize how much revenue oil has brought to ND?? This is one of the few places where jobs are plentiful and hard working people come to support their families. So if you only see problems from oil, then I feel sorry for you. Don't worry tho, when oil is over and done with here, we will MOVE ON to the next place. If you don't like us reeping oil money why don't you get a job and reep the benefits also. When oil has moved on you may think a little differently because the economy here will go right back down. And it will move on, trust me.

I guess everyone needs something to bitch about. Don't worry, oil companies will be a thing of the past here at some point and you will probably bitch about the economy then.

What's it to you! If you don't like it, go back to where ever you came from! It's their land, like the rest of America! You pilgrims think everything belongs to you! It doesn't!
