So let’s spend millions on maintaining park benches and trees 4 months out of the year. And don’t forget the fish that coagulates in March that need to be hauled out. The proposed business and shops cannot afford the overhead there, it's been proven. Do they really need another spot for so-called "Erie Days" entertainment?
Work on your reading comprehension. Nobody is proposing a park.

How has it been proven? It has never been tried in Erie.

Realistic Ideas for the GAF site:

*Low income housing
*City Mission New Life Center (for women & children!)
*SSS (Shower, S h i t, and Shave) Center for the homeless and tent city residents
*Another Walmart!
*With all the shootings and crime increases, why not another prison?

Excuse me let’s call it a “Place”. Like the Central Mall "Place" or the long gone State Street "Place".
Proven, have you taken a look downtown in the past 20 years?? If a store can no longer make it after 85 years that should tell you something. I guess second hand and used junk stores all along State and Parade are a real tourist draw.

If you put an all-you-can-eat buffet down there, Cheetos will be there every day.

Why not build a modern factory ....say for instance to make roofing shingles. There is a highly skilled & unemployed work force ready to step in & make a success out of a venture like this. It would be a full time year round business & in addition to reducing unemployment would generate tax revenues.
Besides when they get done trying to fill that rat hole called The Tullio Civic Center with money & dump it on the community....there is no way we can ever support two losing civic centers. We would have the monstrosity by the bay available to expand the roofing shingle complex with room to put in a bait shop & a boat builder or two, all of which would really provide employment & support the community.
Here's why you got such negative feedback from the erie vultures

Sorry this is topix, last wild west frontier of free speech. If you want to have a happy buzzard circle pukefest without anyone mentioning the horrible state of Erie's economy, suggest you have ETN write a nice feelygood article for you without any public input.

I am still waiting for my detractors to post a response to even one of the points I raised which would suggest I am wrong in my conclusions.

I was being truthful in my statement that I wish I were wrong but none of you who are so critical are able to deflect one point of what I posted.

Does the truth bother you so much? How in the world are you going to ever make an intelligent decision unless you include truth in your decision making process or is "Poof....PFM" Pure F-ing Magic" as to how you arrive at your conclusions?

I really could care less if I am liked or not as long as truth prevails & that is a commodity sadly lacking in the posts of most of the commenters on this forum.

The truth is things are not fine in Erie Pennsylvania , they have not been for a long long time, far longer then most of you have been on this planet.
The fact so many of you ignore the advantages in life the rest of the world can only dream about are willing to accept a second class status & refuse to stand up for the rights you possess does not speak much for the future of this country.

Why not place a movie theater, a strip of restaurants and shops. Make it boater friendly so that there is somewhere other than Rum Runners to dock and eat. An open area for a Key West Style sunset festival.

Every see how long the wait is to eat on Peach? Draw some of that crowd to the bay

How about a boater's store like "West Marine"

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Libra

Is a relationship getting dull and predictable? If so, it's time to inject some spontaneity into it, preferably by doing things on the spur of the moment and taking a few risks. Maybe you should go out for a meal for a change. There could also be a surprise in store when you realize you're attracted to someone who's totally different from your usual type.
