A Huntington to Proctorville ferry idea sinking, for now

Hopes have faded for now for a federal grant to pay for the start-up of a ferry service between downtown Huntington's Pullman Square and the Riverwalk development in the Proctorville area.

And it should be "sinking." LOL Why would this even be necessary?? just another dumb idea for someone to make money.

Ferries are notorious for losing money. I don't think anyone in their right minds would invest in that venture unless they need a huge tax write off. I can see the bridges' becoming upset at the idea. The area bridges will start a negative ad campaign the first one will read something like this "Take the bridge, it's faster and free!!"
