Buckingham will NEVER be jailer. He isn't jailer material. If the truth were to come out about the "REAL" reason he is no longer jailer than those of you that think that he is such a "Saint" might see differently. Randy had every right to fire him. He was given many chances to straigten his "act" up but refused to do so. Everyone needs to make sure they have the facts before assuming that Randy was in the wrong. He wasn't in the wrong and I will stand by Randy and his family all the way!!!!

See I believe Mr. Buckingham did not agree with the crap Mr. Haley or should I say his wife and daughter were doing and if that is a reason for them to let him go than more power to them. I think that most of the problem at the jail is the family up there. There are people out there that really need jobs and his family had good job!!!!! They are just taking jobs that they did not need and other people that do could have. My problem is not with Mr. Haley it is with the issue or his family taking taxpayers money that some one that needs it worse could have... and I just wonder what they make and if it is public knowledge!!!!!!!!!!

The pay for any county employee is a matter of public record. I think you just have to call the courthouse. I have heard--I honestly don't know, but I've seen on other posts that Haley's wife and daughter make over $33,000 per year and I think the jailer makes around $70,000 a year. What I would be real interested to know is if the taxpayers paid for his daughter to go to school to be the medical officer? And if so, did she complete the school? I have asked this question on several occasions and have never received an answer. Come to think of it, the thread always disappears, so maybe that is another family secret that they don't want the public to know about!!

Hang in there Haley. When the truth comes out, they'll run for cover, and believe me it's getting out. Your doing a good job. Oh! yeah, as a matter of fact, jailer's that came before Haley employed their family members as well. Now it doesn't sound so much like a "Haley trend" does it? Let's be honest, wouldn't you as well, come on now, be honest.

I talked to Mr. Buckingham at Wal-mart and I asked him of some of the things that were being said on this site. He looked at me and told me that this website was not going to bother him or discourage him. He said that he will stay focused on what the constituents want as an elected official. He was so positive about what he will do as the next Graves County Jailer. And he is looking forward to any forum that Randy would want to have to discuss the issues so the public could make up their own minds. If you haven't met Mr. Buckingham he is really a pleasant person and someone that would be proud to serve the people of this county.

I can appreciate your seemingly open mindedness and concern over things you may have heard, whether in this forum or elsewhere regarding Mr. Buckingham and that you confronted him about these things and I'm sure he is a pleasant person, after all, he is running for office. I'd venture to say if you'd had an infant with you at the time you met Mr.Buckingham at wal-mart, then you'd tell us that he kissed the baby as well. However, he is going to run for an elected position, therefore he must be pleasant and if he wishes to win, for his own sake, he must be of a positive mind as well. All of these attributes can be said of nearly every politician that has ever ran for any office. You write gullable posts. I have ocean front property in Arizona. Do you believe that? Why not? I said I did.

Look around and see who the different jailers are in the Graves and the surrounding counties and it should tell you something about that position.

It does not mean that they are good at what they have experience in. I could be an experienced attorney and never win a case. Or an experienced teacher and never teach a thing, coach, etc. A jailer is the same way. They have no academy and dont even have to have a high school degree. Now tell me how experience matters to be a jailer.

Why is everyone griping about Randy's wife and daughter? It is no different than Coltharp. His whole family worked there also. sounds like a little jealousy to me. Only the one's who complain about his family are the one's that wish they were in his position. If this buckinham fella gets elected he will do no different. That is good old Mayfield Politics. Same for the Sheriff, Judge Executive, PVA, or anyone else in the Graves County Government. Same for the City.

The only problem is Haley did say before he was elected that he WOULD NOT employ his own family. That is why everyone is upset by it. I say get over it!
