This topic is about the numerous State Troopers that sit in Benton,Il & write their months quota in 1 day. It used to be in the middle of the month but now they are changing it up.

Believe me. I know. They are folowing people home now and ticketing them there. I understand at times their job can be dangerous and there are more important things they could be doing, but this is simply harrassment and the type of thing that makes them a joke. Throwing their authority around and writing seatbelt tickets - what a joke!

People are really starting to complain maybe someone will listen. Local businesses are complaining as well. They pull them over in their parking lots or block the streets to turn in. Nobody wants to deal with that! Traffic is bad enough without this extra added stress.

they need to be out busting a meth head or something bigger. it shouldnt be any of their business or anyones if you want to put on your seatbelt, if u dont care, it should be a freedom of america choice. but they have nothing else to do, so that is why they are there.

Troopers pull people over for alleged seatbelt violations because they are not required to have any other probable cause to do so. And with seatbelat tickets, little money comes back to the county. The majority of the fine goes back to the ISP. It is simply a revenue generator for them and allows them to pad the numbers of troopers they supposedly need to keep the citizens in check.

do wear your seatbelts and you won't have to worry about paying for a ticket, it's the law
