What can it hurt to have a new place to workout at? It's nothing against Benton Fitness, they are nice people, but the new place will have more to offer.

I am excited for the new fitness center. The owners are amazing people and I'm so glad to see something positive opening in this area!

William and Valerie Stark. they are nice people but i look at it like this, it is just another big company coming in and shutting out small businesses in our town, much like wal mart did. Nothing at all against the Starks. The big hype about the day care -#1 who will be watching my kids as i work out and #2, who wants to work out with their kids there, I want some "alone" time when I work out.

You have to be a male because most females would be thrilled to have the day care! Maybe he wanted opinions from those people but asked them not to say anything because he was waiting for everything to start rolling. You can't just start something that huge on a whim. By the looks of it, there'sgoing to be a lot going on out there. And who is he supposedly hurting? By what I've heard people saying, everyone is excited about it. It's going to be great for this town. Just a thought.

I think the idea of child care is fantastic. I've always had difficulty being able to go work out, tan, etc because I don't want to burden others. And it's not like the kids are going to be running around the gym, if you look at their diagram there is a dedicated child care area. I think it's brilliant. By what I know, the starks are local people. They aren't big business people who are coming in and shutting down other small businesses. They are starting this thing from the ground up and will also be considered small business owners. I understand why some small business owners may be worried though, I think this place is going to be great.

If it's William and Valerie, they are nice local people. If William's brother Warren is involved, that's another story. He's.....not a good person.

I'm excited! I would love a place that will watch my child while I get a chance to work out! I can be close to them without having to bother anyone with them on a regular basis! I'm def interested in joining! My husband and I both!

It's a husband and wife in Benton, from Benton. It's not "some big company.". It's a small, new company with a bigger facility.

First of all, its new business... and that's a positive. If you don't want to join, then don't, but don't knock people for trying AND improving the Rend Lake Shopping Center. Second, they won't run anyone out of business that is taking care of their customers. If people like where they are, then they will stay, if not they will have to be more competitive or lose business. Third, as for Walmart, all they did was bring value to the local shopper and Walmart didn't run them out of business, the community did by not supporting them. If they were so good, why did people stop shopping there and go to Walmart. This community is large enough to support multiple businesses of the same type, people have a choice where they shop and do business.

YMCA, Golds, etc. I was just about to post the exact same thing. Every large, well know fitness center has a child care area within the facility. While I don't see there being a major need for a fitness center in this area (I don't think enough people will use it) I do like the fact that they are making it a modern business.
