Abbott ambulance

Its amazing that abbott ambulance is doing the same thing all the other ambulance services have they said they would keep 2 ambulances in county and they arent they had to send med force from herrin for a resp distress and ryan buckingham has taken the complaint forms out of the departments imagine this when his coworker is one of bosses

yeah today they sent one of their ambulances from good am to springfield and only left one in franklin county what happened to abott covering franklin county

I don't think Buckingham is any fan of Abbott and for sure don't think he would cover up any wrong doing.

They definately are not any better than Cardinal.

no abbott is not any better then cardinal they never gave up 7 calls in a weekend ya one or two here and there but if it wasnt for wffd medforce and pickneyville there would be a big amount of calls not taken. Ya maybe there equipment and trucks are nicer but that doesnt really mean much when they arent in the county

cardinal ems is way better than abbott em ever thought about being. all of abbott ems paramedis are all brand new, fresh out of school. and brad is the biggest douche i have ever met. yea the county sure did a great thing!! abbott ems is hardly ever in the county. they leave it uncovered almost everyday. i feel bad for the people of franklin county not only will u have to wait for up to 30 minutes for a ambulance from another county to pick u up....but if u do happen to get abbott ems the medic is brand new!!! what a joke!! brad needs to get a life and go to belleville cause no one likes him. he lies to the hospital all the time

seems abbott fell down on franklin county again yesterday wffd had to respond to the boating accident and rob barrett had to transport a patient even though he was working as a police officer all abbott is worried about is transfers and not paying anything and hiring brand new medics

abbott brings people to herrin er they basiclly do bls transport cardinal always provided good patient care and did what they were suppose to

All brand new huh. You need to check your fact my friend. Not defending Abbott not being in the county but not all of their medics are brand new. I know of at least 5 that have over 10 years experience and 5 of those have alost 20 years. They medics and emts that work there have no control over where they go and do. They are at the mercy of their supervisors and dispatch. They are good people trying their best to help the people of Franklin County.

Again, someone with miss information. Abbott had 2 trucks at the scene. WFFD responded mutual aid because there were 6 pt's. 2 that were critical. How many pt's do you want 1 crew to take care of at once. If you knew anything about EMS maybe you could speak with your mouth and not your ass. Rob is an Abbott medic and was doing his part to help someone. Try getting your facts correct.

If this is true, and I know its not all the time. You need to report it. Abbott has very advanced protocols and procedures that should be followed. If there not then the medic will be held accountable. So report it. IF it's true.

I know that Abbott pulls their trucks for transfers. Most of the people that work there don't agree with it but they don't have a choice. They have to do what they are told to do. They are supposed to keep 2 ALS units in the county all the time, correct. However, some times it's not due to transfers that they are gone. Many times it's due to multiple calls going on at once and one of Abbott's things is taking the pt's where they want to go. Anyone who works or has worked EMS in Franklin County knows that you could have 10 ambulances and it wouldn't be enough. All I can say is. It's understandable to get upset when they are not here, but make sure you understnad why. It's not always just because they are out chasing the all mighty dollar doin transfers. And, keep in mind that it's not the fault of the people that work there, they are just doin what they are told to do. It's like any other job where you have to do as your told. Please don't hold it against the people that are working hard to try and help the community.

I am an Abbott medic and not new. Also there are three medics with over 10 years expirence. And that's just 4 if us. Don't knock the medics who work for little pay away from our families to be there for the county residents.

maybe you should check you facts. No one was threatened nor does she have a cop boyfriend.

After reading all of these post i just cant help and ask most of these ppl how much they know about EMS and how things are done in the field. I'm a local firefighter for this county and also an EMT for a different company so i know a little bit about what's going on. No company is perfect and no company has promised to be the very best. sure Abbott has some down falls but every company including mine has them. All of these transfers everybody has complained about is pt's from Franklin Hospital that need better care then what that Hospital can do. WFFD and Abbott's has a written contract for Mutual aid to help each other out. the day of the boating accident WFFD went out there bc Abbott's needed the help as would anybody else. When you have that many pt's nobody in this area has enough ambulances to cover a wreck without assistance from somebody else. Rob Barrett was a police officer who offered his assistance and works for the company. A friend and a coworker on a different department went out there and helped transport. He wasnt even asked to go out there but he did anyways. Not bc he got paid but bc its what we do. We make a difference in ppl's lives. The basic that was suspended was a gd friend of mine and hes a paramedic student who has been cleared by the state to practice IO's so he did what is in his scope of practice. Most of the crews on Abbott's are friends of mine. Either ppl ive grew up with or ppl i went to school with. Either way does a new Paramedic not save a life the same way as an old medic? Old medics might has more experience then new ones maybe not. Ive seen basics that have more experience then a medic does that make the medic inferior? There are times when this county needs 15 ambulances but there are also times when this county doesnt use any. Stop and think why there are no ambulances sometimes. Ive seen time and time again where there was no ambulance bc they was transporting somebody who was throwing up or just felt sick or stubbed there toe and that ambulance misses a Cardiac Arrest or something serious, so does that mean the ambulance company is to blame or the person who called the ambulance bc of a tummy ache. Ppl need to think about these things before they go makes claim like this.

I agree with pretty much all of what you said except about the basic being a medic student hes allowed to practice ios when hes doing ride time not when hes being paid to act as a basic otherwise the basic wouldnt have been suspended.

Working Class there is more to the story I take it from your post that you have a respect for these people but In regards to the medics there is more to the story as I know the EMT in question the people need to know the entire story as both the paramedic and EMT are good friends of mine as well all I will say is that the people that should have gotten in trouble didn't The story needs to come out I am sure the people in Benton would be up set to find out the real story, There is more to this and it needs to be told
