I believe that this incident was truly self-defense. I work with him at U.P.S. and he is a very honest and hard working individual who is not out there to harm anyone. He was simply protecting himself and his personal belongings that he works very hard for. I am sure it is a very frightening experience to have someone break in your house. I guarantee he is not a criminal.

We are really quick to say what people will and won't do.Just because we work or even live with a person does not mean that we know what that person is capable of.

The young man that was killed was A very intelligent person. We all have done things that we are not proud of but unfortunately he did not come out so lucky. So please before you gve comments think about what you say.

As a friend of the accuser and a person who knows the mother of the victim, I must say that this is a very unfortunate incident for all parties involved. The larger issue here is "What to do with our youth." If we don't motivate them to do something positive with their lives, they will continue to engage in such criminal activities. I urge all of those reading this to take an active interest in your communities before the violence and lawlessness continues to escalate.

It is very sad for the family of the young man, however people have a right to defend themselves, as well as their property. Having your home broken into is a frightening event, and I have every belief that the homeowner was defending himself. Even so, this incident will likely impact the homeowner for the rest of his life. As sympathy and support go out to the boy's family, I hope it goes out to the homeowner as well.

I'm sorry for the loss of life, but I'm not sympathetic to Mrs. Napier's claim he was not armed. Her son should not have been absent from school, not on drugs nor engaging in criminal activity. The child was 16 and her responsibility; she can blame herself. If a criminal is trying to get into my home by means of a door or window, armed or not, I am going to take immediate action and 911 will be the secondary action! The criminal got what he deserved!

The Teens in BH need to understand that their actions throughout the city make ppl act, then think. Teens walk in front of cars daring you to get to close to them, Curse continuously no matter whos around, Fight, Shoot at you, Jump you, Dont listen to adults, fight adults, DISRESPECT ANY AUTHORITY FIGURE and now everybody want to know what happen. If these kids stay in school, go home and do their home work and stay in a kids place instead of trying to be like Bun B or Master P then BH would be a much better place. The teens are making you think I better act first because I don't know what their intentions are. Be for real with the situations thats happening in Benton Harbor with teens I am surprised situations like this doesnt happen more often. The teens in BH have gone crazy. Not all but alot have.

This was my friend and its sad he had to go out this way. Maybe the man was trying to protect his house and whatnot but i belive that corey shouldnt have died this way. Yes, in school Corey could be a little to much but if you got to know him you would see that he wasnt a bad person. Corey did bring this among himself. I hope and pray for his family because i know how it is to lose someone special.

Heartless and ignorant. Thats all I can say about the person who made these comments (Carol). You start off by saying that you're sorry for the loss of life and end by saying that this 16 year old CHILD got what he deserved. Well which is it? This was a kid who made a stupid mistake. It could have been your child or any other teenager you may know. He didn't deserve to die behind this. That is a punishment that is way too severe.

what people seem not to understand is that all life is a gift no matter whether its a good life or a bad one. bottom line if he wouldn't stayed at SCHOOL! he would've never been in that situation. but people don't realize the consquences of the action until it's to late. just to be raw about the situation i don't think that any one in that mans situation would've did any thing different. that's his things and that gives no one the right to try and take any thing from any body at any time. i sure the last thing on that mans mind was to ask him how old he is at a time where someone is threating your surrounding.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aquarius

You won't like it if you feel your wings are being clipped today. You want to do something in particular, only to discover that someone is objecting to your plans or that circumstances beyond your control are standing in your way. Although your instincts tell you to throw a tantrum to get your point across, you must ask yourself what this will achieve, and whether it will actually be self-defeating.
