Maybe, the background of pedersens newly appointed treasurer should be looked at. Something smells fishy to me.

you can only blame pritchett, pedersen didn't even have enough time to spend that money. Pretty sad situation...someone is gonna go down for this. Any bets on who it will be

Is anyone really surprised that millions of dollars is not accounted for. in fact the ones who are showing the most shock and disbelief are the four trustees who were on the board all these years. Of course, according to pedersen, these poor victims were duped and mislead so were in the dark about what was going on in the town they were elected to manage. Of the six trustees, two are newly elected so i can understand they not knowing. THe remaining 4, have been on the board long enough to know better. if they were unaware of the mismanage ment they are just as guilty because they failed to do the job they were elected to do. In the meantime pedersen is going to beat on his chest and play this to the limit. What better publicity for someone who is running to get relected as democratic committeman.

A lot of people could tell you something was not right with the comptrollers office in Franklin Park. People would receive random water bills with exceedingly high estimated use. Anytime someone would ask the Franklin Park Comptrollers office about why the water bills would be high.. the typical response would be.. "we will look into it or investigate it and get back to you"... then never hear anything about it again. One always felt that they were being evaded by the comptrollers office. This is Really not surprising.. but VERY DISAPPOINTING AND EMBARASSING.

Evasive is the perfect word to describe how the Village of Franklin Park has always responded to its residents. EVASIVE. Wonder why..

Someone should investigate the practice of Pritchett's friends in construction always getting Franklin Park construction projects. I thought there should be open bidding. But always.. it is the same old people getting all the Franklin Park business...there was always something fishy about the paving of the alleys project.

Pedersen will not allow closed bidding BS anymore.

I hope you are right. There are these special commissions in Franklin Park. One of them is the Appearance Commission. The members are appointed by the Village President. Back in 2007, Joseph Krieter was appointed to be on this commission. Interestingly enough he owns a cement company. Whenever there is cement work, ie. like paving after a water main break, his cement company is always the one doing the work. It appears that once you are lucky enough to be on these commissions, then village business is thrown your way. I am not sure if this is wrong, but my impression of this sort of relationship is that it is WRONG.

Let us not give Barrett Pedersen any more publicity, the man lives for it. The village needs to get in shape - he should spend his time working on that, the name calling between Pedersen and Pritchett shows what type of person has been elected. A NUT!

I WOULD THINK IT IS JUSTIFIABLE NAME CALLING. Pritchett created this mess and now Pedersen has to take care of his mess.I would be pissed off too, now he can't workon the real issues. GOOD JOB PRITCHETT

Prichett made this mess, and pedersen inherited it. It is a difficult situation to deal with, but he should have reserched the finances before the election, and before he ran and made all kinds of campaign promises he should have known he could not keep. Even if it was a surprise to him, what positive steps has he done to correct it. At the town hall meeting he took credit for what the state did in repaving grand and fullerton aves.,making it sound like this was his doing. He hired (as he called him at a board meeting) his good friend from the accounting firm to do an audit. At $200,000.00 a year(worth the price of two compendent comptrollers). He placed his friends in key postions(sound familair?) and his solution is to ask the public what he should do, because he dosent know how to fix it. Pritchett made this mess, and he deserves whatever he gets. But what did this town do to deserve this new mess we are in?

As far as I am concerned, the only ones who have a right to complain are those who excercised their right to vote. Not just local elections, but all elections at every level. Voting is not just a right, it is a responsibility. When 1/3 of the eligible voters take the time to excercise their right for the F.P. Election, the other 2/3 of the people must live with the results. If another 500 people took the time to come to the ballot, maybe things would be different. For now, the names and faces may have changed, but otherwise it looks like its going to be business as usual in Franklin Park.

You tell them "Old Guy" you hit it right on the head. Just goes to show that who you claim to have on your speed dial will not fix the problems in Franklin Park.........
