Mare Island would be perfect for a movie making company, new jobs, new tax money for the spenders in city hall, and deemed a clean industry by the environuts, now if the salt marsh harvest mouse will just keeps it's head down...........

I do not believe George had any plans to build his Studio within the old, never to be used again, dredge ponds.
Another loss of revenue for the residents of this town, all because of NIMBY'ism of a few!

Oh Oh, is there hope afterall?

KPIX 5 had a report @ 6 pm about the Grady Ranch project and according to their sources Mare Island/Vallejo may be in the running/considered.

Well, we know all about reports by media outlets, but maybe there is some truth to it!

It could happen if they market Mare Island the right way and for the right dollar amount.

I hope this happens for Vallejo. George Lucas is pretty down-to-earth. While he eats at I-hop in San Rafael and watches movies at the local theaters, he may consider Vallejo. I just hope COV doesn't show it's arrogant side.

Wouldn't be surprised if Staff takes it out on the VIBers and reject Lucas Films because of the perceived slap in the face to them because of the participatory budget vote last night.

I hope not! If that attitude would rear its ugly head, I would hope a citizen groundswell would storm City Hall and set them straight!

Davis and his prayer, that's all we need. Lennar should do the marketing, they always have the city's nod.

I'm afraid most at City Hall are asleep at the wheel and couldn't market anything more sophisticated than an AM-PM minimart.
There's simply not enough brain power at City Hall to make what needs to happen happen.

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Pisces

There's a clash today between the past and the present. Someone wants to dwell nostalgically on the good old days but someone else is determined to forget all that and only concentrate on the here and now. The trouble is that neither side will want to concede to the other person's point of view, leading to bad feelings and upsets. If you are one of these people, try not to be too entrenched in your own opinions.
