West Side family's home chosen for 'Extreme Makeover'

Full story: TwinCities.com

West Side day care provider "Tia" Sandy Morris and her two children will have an entirely new home in about a week thanks to "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." The ABC-TV program surprised Morris with the news this morning when host Ty Pennington and the show's design staff knocked on the door of her 100-year-old home.

Well that's just peachy keen... She gets a cruise and a new home... I am sure the other residents in the neighborhood will appreciate this even more once the City slaps their homes with higher tax values after this is done.

This may be a feel good story for now, and let's hope nothing unfortunate befalls Tia and her family like some of the other Extreme Makeover families.

I have to be totally honest...I wish it were my house that they were going to do!
They wouldn't even have to tear it down...just do some renovations. How do they choose these folks?

If you just need renovations, then they probably wouldn't choose you. They did that in the beginning, but now unless they need to tear it down and start over, they don't do it.

This show used to really annoy me, because when I lived in a hotel room for 10 months, it t'd me off that people who actually OWNED a home got this help.

Sound's like she deserves it, and we all know the West Side can use something positive.(Just like my stomping grounds, the Eastside.

The West Side?! Boy, that's gonna be trouble! Once this is all over, there will no doubt be break-ins and all sorts of crimes committed against this residence. They're going to have to have security!
One really nice new million dollar place smack dab in the middle of the west side....yeah, not a great idea.
For who and where do you suggest they build, sir?

In Wayzata where millionaires are ripping the average Joe off with their fiscal shell games. Or in beautiful IGH where sleezy strip club owners are ripping off the US tax payer with their ATM scams? Hmm.

How are they going to get the permits and inspections from the city of St Paul? You can't get an inspector out within a week, so how are they going to be able to finish it?

Well, if that is her house in the backround it sure as heck looks in better shape than mine!!! I should start writing the producers some sob stories about my living situation, doors don't fit right, pipes leaking, water in basement, etc., etc.
Not to mention that I raised 2 kids not my own, plus my own 2 and then took in other kids that had no where to live from time to time.
Heck...at least my taxes will stay down :)

Do you ever say anything else? Or are you too stupid to come up with something more original. Moron.
