You make a good point, Johnny,
further, perhaps they'd have escaped injury if their car hadn't been silver. We ALL know how the color of a car makes it prone to rollovers.

Lmao! A sports car was my best friend's Olds Cutlass 442 with a 455 CID engine and 4 barrel carb. Now THAT car could move! Of course, that was 1978.

Sports cars don't flip. Or weigh that much. Or still have live axle rear suspensions. The Mustang doesn't even go fast in a straight line any more let alone go around a corner with anything resembling control.

The Corvette and the Cadillac CTS-V (which is basically a 'vette under the skin anyway) are about the only 'sports' oriented cars being produced by a major American mfgr. now.

Throw a Mustang into a corner with any speed, it's coming out the other side on a flat-bed tow truck.

Compared to what other American pony car?

You're kidding, right? You shouldn't make such silly claims. Acquaint yourself with SSC, Saleen, or Evans if you want to see a modern serious American sports car. But if you're talking about more common production cars, then the average Dodge Viper or Ford GT will leave both those cars trembling at the line. You have to get a top o' the line Z06 Corvette to even be able to see the tail lights on a Ford GT.

But don't get me wrong, a GM (Government Motors) product is just fine, if you can't afford what you really want.

You guys are boring me with your PONY, petty "sports car" talk. a Mustang ? PLEASE!!

IF it would have been a REAL sports car, ie. a BMW, this wouldn't have happened.

It's a good thing we know about the guy that fell from the ladder too. That explains the helicopter flying overhead close to my Ocean-view Santa Cruz home.

last rainy season, larel curve on n.b. 17 claimed more bmw rollovers than any other brand of car. it gives me goose bumps as i drift through the rain slick turns in my 92 mercury cougar & see the wusses in thier "supposed sports cars" all over the brakes. REAL AMERICANS DRIVE AMERICAN CARS! i saw a helicopter fly over my home on the ridge with a view of the entire monterey bay.(stated while holding my nose in the air).

The BMW guy must've been sarcastic. There's no way ANYONE could take a BMW for anything other than a shallow status symbol to impress chics at traffic lights. BMW's are just very expensive penis-extensions for hair-gel yuppies who need a roach clip to take a leak.

I drive a BMW M3 over 17 10 times a week and my car handles everything the road throws at it plus the idiotic drivers. i've done the route in 12 minutes from LG to SC and that was just a fast clip. I don't disagree with you that most BMW owners are in the same category that most suv drivers are in: status conscious individuals who never really test the limits of their vehicles. A lot of people hate bmws but truthfully they are great sport cars and I bought mine when Road and Track said the E36 M3 was the best sports car that one could buy since the all the feature were worth 10k more than its cost. I still have it 11 years later and it runs great with 200k mileage and it's still a pleasure to drive. Just my 2 cents

Hey grampy, and then what did you do after you came from under the wharf ?(or what you would call home).

And, It is true that BMW's have the best handling of any other car, in the same category. That is a fact that has been proven over and over.

...92 Mercury Cougar.... i didn't know those were still around....

Okay...I'm just yanking chains. BMW can and does make some very nice models. I'm sure a trip over the hill in your car would put quite a smile on my face. I'm just partial to American cars. I custom build resto-rods as a hobby. I currently have two customs I've built...a 1947 Chevy coupe that's been chopped, dropped and has a full IFS front and rear suspension and 4-wheel discs installed....powered by a built 454/th400/Ford 9". This car flat out moves and freaks-out those who don't believe an older car can move like that. The other vehicle is a 1956 Ford F100 I rebuilt from the ground up....302/c4/8.8" with 4 wheel discs. Both these cars are regular drivers and show cars. So I just like a little ...."cargument" regarding brand.

Just don't anyone tell me a Mustang can't handle well...that's utterly ignorant.

touche' or what ever that term is supposed to mean. I love older vehicles especially the muscles cars of the 60's like GTos and Barracudas but unfortunately for me I was born without the "mechanic" gene which is odd because I have 7 uncles who are intuitive carpenters, plumbers, mechanics etc but not me I got scr* wed genetically in that department. I did get the fast talking salesmen gene though which enabled me to buy that M3 which I can terrorize the other hapless and aggrieved drivers on 17 with :). Congrats on your projects and btw you're a lucky man to do what you do with your spare time/freedom. I mean that btw. Have a good night

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Cancer

Take things gently otherwise you'll end up running round in ever-decreasing circles. Yes, you may still have a lot to do but you won't achieve very much if you develop butterfingers or waste all your energy on a full-blown panic. Maybe you could rope someone into helping you, rather than doing your Cinderella act in the kitchen while everyone else takes it easy?
