Lenore Barsness, Judy Hanks, Sally Morrison & Linda Johnson were holding Archie's removal petition back from the RBC. Those women as a group were using the removal petition as a bargaining tool to secure business contracts........
One person of the petition group not mentioned, took it upon herself to deliver the petition to George Googleye to act on, after Luke Wilson, George G., and Mick Finn confirmed to her the truth of those women using the petition as a bargaining tool.........

well i hope with the firing of these people he puts qualified applicants in them positons and not family and friends which usually happens and is a disgrace to oour soverign nations we need qualified educated people running our tribes not friends and family of the tribal chairman. this so common amongst tribes thats why we never get anywhere in the solutions we need for our native reservations someone is always holding grudges against someone they have to learn how to cope and communicate to resolve problems like that and you dont see or hear them doing anything postive in that way.....lets see who he puts in to office..name and education pertaning to the postions he's gonna fill .........friends or family or a qualified applicant ???????we will see

in addition to my last post about the Pioneer Press article on Archie Larose........

George G. then hired Sally Morrison as Exec. Director and later gave her a contract for an astronomical amount of money.......

The Pioneer Press later recieved a contract for working with the tribal newspaper.

I am wondering if the Pioneer Press has lost or is to lose their contract now that LaRose is cleaning house.

I know many of the people fired, most of them are honest and hardworking. I would say the number actually let go is closer to 30 and hear that 5 police officers are on the chopping block along with others that need to train their replacements in first.

Archie is on a personal vendetta, he keeps saying its not personal and likes to refer to himself as a likeness to the president, but come on, the only thing these people have done it stood up to archie and do the right thing.

Now a days it seem like the only qualification for employment on Leech Lake is to be a convicted felon, thief or sexual deivient, I was at the administration office the other day and was surprized to see good ole Tig Pemberton, Jim Michaud, wally storbakken, mike jones ( all felons) Muriel Ellis, just (within the last couple weeks) convicted and charged with stealing over $15,000 from her last job, Charlie Michaud and Chuck Gotchie. Doris jones, Steve white and chris bedeau fired from the tribe for stealing, and archies mother, sister and wife now hold top jobs. His replacement list goes on and on, and now doing away with employment drug testing ?? I wonder how many felons and thieves it takes to loose our Tribal Funds and other federal/state funding???

It is a sad day for the good People of Leech Lake.

I also forgot, that guy who banishment was being considered (Con, what a fitting name), is also working up at the front office, go figure

I believe "friends or foe" is quite confused. It will be a good year for the sad people of Leech Lake. As for the list of members you mentioned, they are either innocent of the gossip/rumors or they have paid their debt to society. Why would you be suprized to see Leech Lakers at an office? Are there special members who are the only ones who can question, seek employment & get services? I think there should be more than 5 police officers discharged, thank god Steven Day is gone. Archie is not out for vendettas, pay attention to the open meetings, qualified people and the check & balances. He deserves to be Chairman, didn't you see the outrageous amount of votes he had? He was Chairman-elect for months while good ole GG and Garbow kept screwing up all the documents and made money disappear. What I want to know is, who in the world deserved to keep their top job from the last 4 years? who, who, who let the dogs out? No wait, George shot one. Let the record show, Archie has been vindicated by the courts and is clear of stupid, mindless charges brought on by Garbow & GG. Archie wants to make it better to live here with a hand up not a hand out, didn't you get a cup? If you don't like it, run for an office and see where YOU get..... seems like no where. Who do you think you are accusing tribal members of being at a trial office? Archie went to over 700 homes and asked for their support and talked about the positive future of Leech Lake & it's people. Now he is doing what needs to be done with the approval & help of the majority.

They could use all the officers they can use to keep up with archies family! All those drug dealers and sex offenders! And archie him self may have been cleared from charges but everyone on this reservation knows he's just a theif! All those people they fired was wrong...he's not doing anything good for this reservation, all he is doing is putting his reject ass family members in high positions to drain the res of everything it has! As for George, he did this reservation some good! He may have screwed around and got a couple people knocked up...but he did a good job as a chairman! At least he can make a public speech without embarassing over half of the reservation!

Where have you been kayintheforest? Archie was'nt "vindicated" he didnt have the balls to have his case heard, he played his little "im chairman" trump card and the cases were dismissed.

The Rebuilding Native Nations Book was a complete and stupid role to push at the Leech Lake Rez. this is never going to be on a foundation at Leech Lake Under this Book. Leech Lake has opened a huge infection of Shame, Corruption, and Misery as Leech Lake goes into days and months all will find ourselves in a current of huge hopelessness for Youth, Elders, Families, when is the common understanding going to be with us, as a Nation Preservation of Ourselves, Land, and Direction of what we would like to really have for the leadership at Leech Lake? The three clowns, in now have no foundation of anything to be upholding of basic Truth, Honesty, Respect, but Geo and Mick never had upholding of anything at all, also. Except to do in Leech Lake People for the worse! and Geo and Mick were very successful in this now we as a Nation are at the destruction of King Arthur and his Knights! Why can't we learn form our Mistakes??? You call this Rebuilding Native Nations??

Um....Excuse me..Then tell me what kind of leader would leave his baby boy to fend for himself? Sure he has a mom,but what about responsibility? Is that not what your great ex leader always preached about? I know her personally,and though she thinks she can do it on her own,every child deserves the things they need! He is quick to help everyone else's kids, including his new baby mama's kids...of course that was back in the day, when he was trying hard to get in. Just ask one's self....What kind of a leader would we have had,HAD he won the election? He is not showing ONE BIT of responsibility, OR HUMAN COMPASSION,toward his VERY OWN FLESH AND BLOOD!!!! And the way you say "Maybe he knocked up a couple people" is DISTURBING..like our children are some kind of junk you can just throw away. That is what is wrong with todays society. As for the firing,George did the same thing when he came in to office. George has a politicians tongue yes, very good with it. But it comes down to human compassion for your people that will be important in the end.
Archie should have been given the chance to do his job many years ago. He was an ELECTED official, not appointed...ELECTED by the people. What does that show you? He is the true warrior who won in the end. It is his time,let him do his job!

I must say that it really saddens me that all this greed,corruption and hurtfull actions are taking place on the Leech Lake reservation.(For those of you who dis-agree with this, you are most likely benefitting from on of the three or have a friend or family memeber who is, so dont bother commeneting on my post). All of what I have heard and seen on the Leech Lake reservation has been negative, from the reservation being in debt to the "peoples" money missing, to hard working honest people being fired and replaced with criminals and close family members of the high ranking or with unqualified canidates. Being in my mid 20's I cant believe that I am hearing and seeing all these hurtful actions taking place. It seems to me like the Indian way has long been forgotten along with honesty and respect by some! not to mention common sense. People of the Leech Lake Reservation need to stand up and take back what has been stripped from them and let the Creator take care of those people responsible for there actions of greed and corruption.

Why do ppl like you have too go around and worry about what an where ppl are working. Do you have a job? Are you qualified for the job that you do? People make mistakes some are good and then there are the bad. Are you a saint? We all have a skeleton or two in our closets. We and you should be more worried about our CHILDREN and ELDERS. These are the ones that we have to protect and care for. Put your energy into postive and you will have better way of life.
