Why did they need translators there? If the illegal was in line they knew what was going on.

They needed translators for the Spanish speakers because, even though people may have come ready to get the vaccine, you need to ask a few medical questions before giving the vaccine.

Hey floop ... there were translators for Chinese and Vietnamese speakers also. And don't forget, people were speaking Spanish in Califoria LONG before English speakers arrived. Regardless of their status, it makes more sense for people to immunize their children now, rather than having them show up at an emergency room in a few weeks with a fever of 104?

I wouldn't wait 20 minutes for the swine flu shot much less 2 hours. H1N1 doesn't seem much, if any, different than the regular flu. I've had the flu. It ain't so bad and it's unlikely to cause long-term harm. I'm more concerned about driving up & down hwy 101 everyday. hysteria abounds .... And to all the racist "illegal" commenters .... grow up or go away. May karma bite you in the butt.

One can always look at it from another view as well.
If the the Person willingly does not wish to assimilate with the local, and current Culture, and at least establish at least the basic understanding of American-English, then why would'nt They bring-along a bi-lingual Friend, rather than have People assimulate to Them.

When I worked abroad and legally obtained working Visas in a few Countries, I learned not only the language(s), but also the regional language(s), and in One Country I worked in in which was occupied by French military, I also had to learn basic French, or no Visa.

Being a Ham Operator, I also wished to operate from a few of these Locals, so as a Foreigner applying for an Amatuer radio license I also had to learn how to send/receive a few different languages in Morse code to obtain such permits/licenses.

Almost Everywhere I've lived/worked most Folks spoke English as well. but did not bend over backwards to make my life easier, I adjusted to Their Culture.

So what's the deal with the illegals?
I understand that education is not high on Their Cultres list, but seriously, this is really just plain stubborn/stupid.

If I bit You on the butt, that would be illegal.
So if You objected to Me biting You on the butt, should You be labled as a "Racist"?

The Law is the Law, all Countries have laws on immigration, although I don't know about Antarctica.
But I Do know that Mexico's laws on Immigration are far more strict than the US's.

And how many folks got exposed to it standing line with a large group of the unvacinated who then left?

Bottom line avoid all crowds
And yes you do want the service worker who is making your lunch or handing you change to be vacinated
This is in your self interest

fact is the illegal immigrants lack of a higher education puts more of a stranglehold on our tax dollars than any of seasonal flu will ever amount to.send those undocumented home and let our county recover its infrastructure. i've had enough.

However, those who consider themselves as having “higher learning” are too good for the jobs these people do.

That being said, we the USA need to get the illegal immigration under control.

That being said I have been hearing that after 12/21/2012 all of our problems will be gone.

This is a classic example of how Obamacare will work in the real world. Those in favor of the WORST BILL EVER are only heading for a wait line for their health care. See how wonderfully the government has handled this Swine Flu vaccine? This is a look to the future of your health care should the Senate have brain fade and vote for this monstrosity.

Gee our County Tax dollars are paying for this. Why are the majority of people that pay the taxes being forced to wait in line in places that are in the middle of and are seemingly reserved for non-taxpayers?
i.e. the Canal barrio and the Black housing projects of Marin City...gee, maybe they want to discourage non barrio and non housing projects people from even showing up?

If illegal aliens consumed a sizeable percentage of these flu vaccinations, while actual CITIZENS could then not get them, where is the justification for THAT? Does this mean the American citizens who could not get the H1N1 vaccine here because of the shortage could go to Mexico and get the vaccine there? I'm sure they could just walk across the border into Mexico and demand the vaccine because, well, because they are there.

We are complicit in being played for suckers & fools by the rest of the world, who are quite happy while we ignore our own laws and provide free services to the people of other countries at taxpayer expense. No wonder this country is gutted economically & financially.

I was listening to a highly-respected economist the other day on an interview show who, for the first time I've ever heard this, discussed the possibility that the economic situation that the Federal government has put us in with profligate spending creating enormous Federal debt--now over 11 TRILLION DOLLARS--will eventually lead to an actual default event, where the Federal government will officially declare its inability to pay back investors in Federal paper such as bonds, Treasury bills, savings bonds and the like.

Given the history of the Federal government recently, which types of bonds do you think it will choose to default on? Treasury bills that are held by huge institutional investors like banks, brokerages, and the enormously wealthy, or run-of-the-mill savings bonds held by, well, by people like you and me?
