Solutions being sought for loud motorcycle exhaust systems

most people are just stupid. its not just motorcycles. its cars, trucks, music, people, and every other things out there. and remember this, not every motorcycle has loud pipes and not every person on a motorcycle does drugs and beet the woman. many others like your self also do that. and no i am not say you do. just others like what you are. then again, we never know if you do or dont. like i have said in the past. i like pipes. but i also think there is a point that people do cross when doing it. "some" people over do it. "some" people dont over do it. its the same thing in cars and trucks. "some" do and "some" dont.

I live in New Hope Pa and the moronic harley riders ruin most weekends with their loud obnoxious noise. Thankfully the police are starting to crack down on the morons who insist on having loud pipes. I hope they double the fines by next summer and add extra police to keep these morons out of New Hope. Check out thew South Park episode 'The F Word' to see how most folks in New Hope feel about loud harleys.

loud pipes actually serve a purpose, they increase the overall performance on a motorcycle, but yes, most are for show or a track only, loud is annoying for everyday use, just like using a cat back on a mustang is loud if not louder. Just get over it, there are worse things to bit*h about in life, the noise is only for a few seconds, get over it. To some bikes are a passion, to some they are death traps, who cares, we all like different things.

well if you dont like the noise move, thats that simple and if people have loud exhaust on their bikes and there small brained? how about you endangering other people on the road way while talking on your cell phone, did you ever think about that?

I have no problem with motorcycles. But you people need to understand when u sit outside for half an hour reving the bike and not riding it its not fun when the house is shaking and a 1 year old is trying to sleep. Be more considerate. The loud bike doesnt make you tough. Must be making up for a lack of something else.

whoa, that was bringing it to the racism level, calm down. 1: i am white, i am married, and i may be young, but since i have modified my exhaust, i have not been cut-off. 2: if anyone uses their cellphones while driving, think...you have done it, quit it.(before entering vehicle, pull the battery, NOTHING is more important than focusing while driving, my grandfather was passing away while i was driving, didn't even know it, and i don't regret a thing). 3: i live in houston,tx;i am more than happy to give a tour of what it's like here on a bike, and if you say i should get a car, i have one, it's a backup, i do 20k a year on my harley, and don't regret a thing. the police here care, believe it or not, they do. but in terms, i have wrecked once, and now, with new pipes, no one has come close. the people who rev their bike at lights and any chance are weekend warriors, no pride in that...none at all. pipes are for the highway, not at the light. i shut my bike off at a long light, it's air-cooled, that shit hurts. and of course, for those who say that quieter is better, check out how quiet a car is when someone not looking walks behind you, and you kill them, she was 14 years old, no reason for it. a semi-noisy vehicle is good. where is the study for it, right here...think, why are you all complaining, is it the smoking laws? no, it is because of loud pipes, you looked, didn't you, there's your study. it proves itself, why will their be no major study, what if it proves loud pipes are better, then people in cars will want loud pipes too. then, people will all have loud vehicles, loud life, and that bike won't stand out anymore, will it? just sharing some thoughts

Here in Clark County,WI they don't do anything..they let people do what ever they want!...We have a kid who rides a small older dirt type bike and he goes past peoples homes he and his family don't like and deliberately guns the engine all day long even on the weekends!I have a fan turned on, a T.V. on and when he goes by it's louder then that!I have to wear ear plugs if I want to take a short nap before I go to work! People are sick of the HARASSMENT they delve out with that bike.Cops won't do anything..They say they have to get caught by them...I understand that! It is still wrong!....Then if I or the neighbors say anything they get nasty and louder with their trucks and cars and use threatening type activities and mess the roads up!This is true!No one wants to stop the kid from riding..just the loud muffler.IS THAT TO MUCH TO ASK? Where IS OUR RIGHT TO A LIFE WITH OUT TERRORISM FROM THAT LOUD BIKE?

Do you want to know when I hear the loud pipes? AFTER they've gone whizzing past me on the highway. What good is that? If you want to save your life, slow down and drive defensively. Watch out, there's cars everywhere, there's trucks everywhere... so why limit safety to just one segment of the driving population? Wake up and quit being inconsiderate, selfish, and disrespectful with your loud pipes. PLEASE!!

Do you have any idea how hurtful you are being and how you lower the enjoyment of life? I have a serious hearing loss, cause unknown, but unfortunately, my hearing loss doesn't prevent me from hearing loud motorcycles! If you only knew the pain you are causing. I don't know, maybe you do and don't care. My apt sits back off of a busy street and if I want to enjoy the pleasure of a summer day and open my door or windows, I have to put my hands over my ears, literally. Starting from when I first hear the motorcycle until it's gone past, a total of about 15 seconds, I have to cover my ears. On the weekends, that's about once every 5 minutes. I know a lot of you think it's funny and don't care, but your day is coming. Some day you'll be on this side of the fence, mark my words!

Beloit, KS is the noise capital of the midwest at ALL hours of the day and night - loud mufflers constantly revving (are they reverends maybe?) and boom boxes (they're making up for not having enough rattles when they were infants!). The Beloit police are either deaf, dumb, or on the take for something. That whole hick town (where the worst of the country meets the worst of the city!) has gone to pot, if you know what I mean! I'll go back for a visit when they legalize murder! The best thing to fix the Beloit problem - at least for a while - would be a F-5 tornado!

Here is my question for you. I have a very traumatic surgery occuring tomorrow. I am scared and need peace and quiet. I am in the BACK of the house, taking a bath to relax and I have to hear a bunch of loud bikes coming down the road. Revving thier engines while at a stop light. Should I not be able to be in my own home and relax without having to hear that? I agree with the loud music however that has never interrupted me in my own home. And to add I am dating someone with a Harley and I ride all the time. The bike is smooth, beautiful and just loud enough.

The more overweight someone is generally the lower their testosterone levels. Loud pipes are only a testosterone compensator. The louder the pipes the lower the testosterone. Still doesnt make loud pipes legal.
