Police seize wedding gowns; complaints pour in against Mountain Avenue Bridal

I realize that something awful has happened with Mountain Avenue Bridal. I also know that Patty Burling just couldn't have done these things maliciously. I purchased a dress from Mountain Avenue Bridal and although it was quite late (what bride has ever received her dress on time?) it was gorgeous and Patty Burling and her employees were fabulous to me. Patty also was my wedding planner and I couldn't have pulled off such a beautiful wedding without her. I'm sorry to hear that she is going through this, I heard that she attempted suicide and is in the hospital? Its clear she did some things wrong, but the other side of the story hasn't been told. I'm sorry there seem to be so many people who did not have the same wonderful experience that I did with Mountain Avenue Bridal. Lets not forget that brides can be wicked... and nasty.... and they lie too.

Oh yeah and I just found out tonight that Patty did not refund our money she actually she charged my mom again then said she voided it and well and behold she never refunded the money or recharged it again on Monday. SHE IS A CRIMINAL!!!!!!!!!!

But brides don't steal, cheat, lie and then try to take money out of your account without providing a service: that's the textbook definition of criminal.

That was uncalled for. and just plain mean. I wrote that, not Patty. You don't need to be mean to someone just because they posted something good. I understand that. I was just simply stating that my experience was a good one. I hope everyone turns out okay, including Patty. She was very good to us, I am sure you all can say that she was too, but that doesn't change what she is being accused of doing. I'm just having a hard time believing that ALL of this is true, after such a good experience with her. I'm not negating your feelings so please know that, ok?

She was not good to me or any other person that is having to deal with her mess. I had to reorder a dress and rush order it. I had to pay more money than the original dress. She wrote me nasty emails and caused me a lot of stress. She lied to me multiple times saying my dress was coming for 10 months. IF she would have stopped at one point and said listen I am having a rough time due to the economy and your dress is not coming here is your money I would have some compassion. My parents found out tonight she tricked them and pretended to refund the money and never did. Well now the credit company is going after her so be it. They have to go down to the Fort Collins Police Department tomorrow and file a complaint. Fun Times! I cannot say anything nice about her. I hope she is not sick or has tried to cause herself harm, but that is it. She deserves to get in trouble. She had cause pain, stress and problems for people. Thats great she was good to you, but as of today there is 78 unhappy people, probably more tomorrow. At one point in time she probably was a great business woman, but I am not sorry to say she is a jerk. Weddings are not all about the dress, but there are girls I have talked to that have not gotten their money back and cannot afford to get another one. How would you have felt if that was you? Its weeks away from your wedding and you have nothing to wear? No money to find something off the rack or at a department store or Target? Yes I do have a problem with you posting nice things about her because myself and other brides were hurt by her selfish actions.

I don't know if Patty is a "good person" or a sinister con artist. She probably wouldn't have opened a bridal shop if she was a true con artist--there are slicker ways to con people out of money, with much less risk. But she doesn't seem like a fully "good person" either, as 80+ brides are filing police reports--and it's unlikely that 80+ brides are all "wicked and nasty." The truth is that she is probably a decent person who did some bad things--and now she needs to take personal responsibility for her misdeeds and make amends, rather than continue to blame others.

Check out the Larimer county website (http://www.larimer.org/clerk/ ) property information. Apparently, Patty & her husband Jeff just bought a new house at the end of July. Hmmm....do you think they could have used the stolen money for their downpayment? I don't understand why this woman hasn't been arrested!

Jeff will go down with her, unfortunately! I knew him and knew him to be decent...Then. When he met her, everything went South. She is a horrible person, hurts everyone and for some reason he is not seeing this. Jeff will NOT be able to protect anything he's built in life if he walks this life with a person who lies, cheats and steals from others. You will lose everything. You can't hide assets from the law when they are shared by marriage. Wake up, Jeff! You know who cares and who is good. Patty is NOT. If she gets away with this now (hopefully not) everyone knows she carries her black cloud and she will be faced to answer to her bad at some point. She is evil. Really, I know...so does everyone else.

Has Patty Burling been charged yet?

Patty is not a nice person. I know her twin sister. She lives in my hometown in Central Wyoming. In the middle of all of this, Patty opened up a shop called Bella Novia in our little town to sell Central Wyoming bridal gowns and prom dresses. She encountered the same problem, never paid the rent in the newly refurbished space she rented, left unders unfilledand left her twin sister to face our small town full of suspecting eyes and unanswered questions when she emptied the shop in the middle of the night and left town. She even tried to have her sister arrested for all of this in the process. Patty is a nasty, hateful person who dwells on attention and drama, and then hides behind illness when the @$%^&* hits the fan. Good luck Patty. I hope stripes look good on you.
