May you rest in peace Michael, we'll deeply miss you you were quiet, but a real gentleman with a big heart.

My heart goes out to the parents of these young boys. Since I've heard the news all I can think about is how will their parents ever get through this. I almost lost my son 1yr ago to a drunken motorcyclist and thank god each day I was spared this pain. Please to all you young children out there, please think of those you will leave behind before speeding or drinking and driving, or doing anything that may take your life away. God willing you will be in heaven, but to those left behind, we will live in hell. God bless those who knew & loved these 2 young boys and may their memory help you through each day,

yet another sad and senseless death. the punishment for speeding shouldn't be a death sentence, but unfortunately that's what sometimes happens. as the parent of two high school students I cringe when I hear news stories like this.

People - yes we all know whose fault this is - but come on - have a little compassion for the family here. yes the boys were totally out of control, but their families are at a total loss right now. Too many young people drive like maniacs and we see it all time and its sad b/c this is the result. May they both rest in peace.

When Ralph Nader said that the automobile was unsafe at any speed, he wasn't just whistlin' dixie!

The incredibly insensitive comment about these two young, promising boys is a vicious. They are someone's son, nephew, grandchild. I pray that the person who referrred to them as animals will never have to experience such a terrible loss. My soul is deeply saddened for these two young men and their families.

2007 BMW for another inexperienced 17 year old driver.
Always the same old and sad story. C'mon people don't let your emotions get the best of you when you are buying a car or your kid is buying a car.Use your brain not your heart. Law makers should also get involved. Prohibit certain cars from young drivers. Stop these deaths.Doesn't anyone care. |

and a word to the kids at JFK...
the accident happened less than a mile from Half Hollw Hills High School West...the students there know just what you're going through today...they lost a member of their senior class in October in a one-car crash, and they're still feeling the loss. |

My prayers go out to the families of these two boys.

I want to know how was it they were driving at night when they are 17.
I know you can drive at 17 with drivers ed but the story doesnt mention that. The age for a regualr liscence is 18 |

I understand the compassion towards the young students that died and their family, but what if they took out a minivan full of children while they were recklessly flying down the highway? And we don't know if the driver was sober or not (be it pot, alcohol or whatever), I imagine that would quickly change everyones opinion of the situation.

Such a tragedy! 17 yr old boys GIVEN a high performance vehicle. WHY?????????

1) So sad - silly teenagers
2) Poor parents - I feel badly for them - I hope they tried to raise and teach these kids responsibility 3) Thank goodness no other car was hit and innocents killed 4) It is about time that Suffolk Police and Courts really crack down on this reckless driving - I nearly got run down twice on Sunrise Highway just driving 10 miles round trip - and I do drive 60 to 65 MPH (I think the cops are just too lazy) |

Let me add...and endangering OTHER DRIVERS in the process. My sympathies to the family and friends, absolutely NOT for people who have no regard for their lives, or the lives of others on the road. |

Add that with inexperience, rain, poor visibility etc. I would NEVER get my kids any type of car like that. Money or not! I cant believe what this car was reduced to. I dont think ive seen an accident that the car was in little pieces. Thats just so horrible. I feel for the loss of the familys. How on earth can you give your kid a car like that. |
