The Green Hearts Environmental Movement has been created to get America's Youth Involved in the Battle Against Climate Change. Located in Bloomfield, New Jersey we plan to spread the word about Climate Change, Living Sustainably, and the ways in which we can turn our planet in the right direction towards a bright and healthy future for everyone.

Bloomfield College's new Environmental Group "The Green Hearts Movement" is hosting a day of climate action on October 24th. They are working with the 350.org initiative, who's goal is to raise awareness about the safe level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere (350 parts per million) by holding thousands of events across the world on one day. At each one of these events participants will somehow represent the number 350 and take a picture. Pictures from each event will be uploaded to 350.org and be made into a virtual petition that will be handed to the media along with world leaders attending the Copenhagen Climate Summit, putting pressure on them to work as hard as possible to hammer out a reasonable climate treaty will bring us back to safe levels of Co2.(we are currently at 390 parts per million)

The Green Hearts Movement has joined the 350 initiative and will be holding an event at the Bloomfield College quad. The event will begin with our 350 action. On arrival participants will be given 350 signs and banners along with a brief speech about what 350 is. Once the signs are dispersed and the speech complete we will begin a walk to Foley Field where we will form the number 350 with participants and take a picture.

On return the food and beverages will be available for participants along with a number of information tables and speakers.

After food is served we will have speakers Gray Russell of the Montclair Environmental Commission, along with Jane Califf, and Barbra Conover of the Essex Greens Environmental group speak about climate change along with related policies and legislation in congress.

Participants will then be able to check out information tables provided by Essex Greens, Greener Bloomfield, The Recycling Committee, and The Green Hearts Movement. And learn different ways to practice in sustainable living.
