Belleville is the new East St. Louis

I've lived in Belleville all of my life. And it's said to say, but, I want out. I can't stand what has become of my beautiful city. Trash, trash, trash. Crime, crime, crime. Losers, losers, losers. Blacks, blacks, blacks. I would like to thank all of our wonderful local politicians and our wonderful slum lords for bringing all of these inbred degenerates to my beautiful community. My kids can't even go to school anymore without worrying about getting harassed by a group of black kids. I'm sick of it. So, hey, thanks a lot guys. Way to keep up the good work. Pretty soon you'll have a chocolate city and then where will your tax dollars come from?

Your kidding right? White flight is the real problem. If people who can afford to live in 'nice' areas stayed they would still be nice. But let one Black with the money, self respect and pride to want to own something worth having, move in and you White folks sell for what you can get and hightail it to the east. And as far as your kids being hassled, it's a shame. Now you might realize what a lone Black child in an all white area goes though.

I moved away from Belleville in 1970 but still have friends and family their. I loved the Belleville area but would never move back because of the reasons discribed. Belleville has really gone in the tank over the years.

I do remember when ESL was a nice place(pop. 88,000) white flight happened for a reason. All you have to do is look at ESL now. All of the white people moving did not cause this. The people staying in ESL made it what it is today.

I'm moving because of the trash. Not the successful people that have pride in their work, family, and lives in general. I don't have a problem with black people at all. It's the trash. Both white and black. As far as my children go, my son is autistic. How dare you say he is experiencing the same. The black kids in these schools are a bunch of damn little thugs, molded after their thug daddy's. That's if they even know who their daddy is. LOL. Personally, I don't want my kids going to school with thugs. Do you? Let the black and white trash have Belleville. I don't want it. It is ruined and is still going down hill fast. Crime is up and I'm outta here. If you want to defend the blacks moving here, then stay. You can have it all to yourselves.Just like East St. Louis. LOL

ANother after thought about your statement. It's not the successful blacks that are moving in. It's the undesirables. And you know as well as I do, if you are a successful black, you don't want them around you either. Nor your children for that matter. The west end is now trashed. Predominately black. Uptown, in old Belleville, is pretty much trashed too. WHite flight you say? Yep. You better believe it buddy. I have the means to move my family to better surroundings. I feel sorry for the people who can't. THey are just stuck and have to watch the city go down the tubes.

Yep! Crack, gangs, guns, prostitution, corrupt local government, etc. Even the people in positions of power can't function on a diplomatic level. ANd who's fault is that? That a "lone black" child is in an all white area? That hasn't happened in about 20 years? And I'll tell you another thing, I never let the black indigent thugs, who harressed my child, get away with it. I demanded something be done. And it was done. I've dealt with their parents. Told them to keept their little thugs on a leash if they couldn't control them.LOL. Shocking isn't it? LMAO I put a stop to that crap real fast. Told my kids not to put up with it. Exactly how are the schools in East St. Louis? Is it a safe place for the kids down there? LOL..... We don't want the thugs. As soon as people realize that, the better.

You should all do what you can. I am from Cahokia and have lived there all my life. I now work in Belleville and see the same thinmg happening here that happened in Cahokia 10 years ago. If you can sell and get what your house is worth now take it and run.

First of all Mushy Mushy (you sound like a racist KKK), there is a lot of white trash. Black people are not the problem, it's mostly the racist whites like you. There are a lot of successful blacks that are not trashy or on drugs. Check yourself. I am from E.St.Louis, have a PhD and live very nicely.

So...Blackandproud. I'm confused. I bought into a quiet naighborhood in Belleville. Have lived here a many years. Recently, many black people have moved here also. St Clair County is now racing theough the neighborhood several times a day and carting away our young black neighbors. How does that make me a 'racist white'. You are correct, there is trash of all colors, but it seems live the only troublemakers in my community are black.
I purchased my home here 10 years ago. For the first few years, I watched as homes around me were being bought and sold at increasing prices. Suddenly...the metro-link opened up here, the neighborhood began 'changing' color'. Sirens are constantly blaring around here, black kids walking the streets at all hours of the day, blasting stereos driving up and down the street all day and night. We had seen enough...and put our home up for sale.... Amazingly, all those years of equity in my home wasn't there anymore. It appraised for hardly enough to pay off my mortgage. If a person drives through here, sees all the questionable ;'black' activity' and chooses to keep on driving through, that hardly makes me racist.

Amen to that. I can relate to your frustration also. I don't want to live around trash. Belleville is going down the tubes. Everyone knows it.Blacks and whites. I say, let them have it. I'm moving out. You see, blacks get upset when whites move out and away from them. Since they love each other so much, I don't understand why they get upset. Or maybe they know as well as we do, that the property value goes down and they are stuck living amongst the thugs. Their "brothers." Shame really. I don't have a problem with decent hard working folks. But, what's moving up here isn't any of that character. Sometimes the truth hurts. Same goes for the run down white neighborhoods. They're just as bad. Trash. SO, to the country it is. Where my kids can go to school in a safe environment and breathe clean country air. No thugs to have to deal with.
