Next will be Obama removing all firearms and bombs from all US military bases around the world to prevent another trajedy like yesterday. The MPs will be using rubberband/cap guns!

Over the past 100 years, many Muslims have served with distinction in our armed forces, especially since the first Gulf War. Many of them still serve as translators and teachers of Arab culture to our troops over there. Some choose to do other much-needed jobs. Many of them became American citizens through their service to this country in her Armed Forces.

Banning them all would be rather un-American - would it not?

it seems to leave your religion and skin color silent. I believe it is that way for a reason - don't you? No, the military doesn't care who you are, they are more interested in what you will become. Therefore, the military will just about take anyone whom can meet the rigorous physical and mental requirements, and loves this Country enough to put their life on the line in her service.

I imagine most of the "Ban Muslim’s in the Army” cries we will hear in the coming days belong to souls whose boots have never marched on foreign soil in the service of this country.

Only a small percentage of Muslims believe that all Christians should be killed. Many Muslims have served with distinction in the armed forces of our country. To deny them that privilege would be un-American and stupid. The shooter at Fort Hood was a mentally ill individual who simply cracked and went off the deep end. There is no indication he was an infiltrator from Iraq or any other Middle Eastern country. He was born in the U.S. and had served in our armed forces for years, becoming an Army psychiatrist and a major. In dealing with returning crippled soldiers, he had simply taken more stress than his mind could stand. He went berserk. Do not judge all Muslims by the actions or failure of a relative few.

I agree, he reminds me more of the Virginia Tech shooter than a Jihadist.

i agree with oliver, this one earns the redneck post of the year award. they'll want to keep this killer alive to get all the information out of him as possible, im sure there will be many interesting developments on this story as it goes on. its sad that this had to happen it just goes to show that anything can happen when you least expect it, religion or not. In my career I've met many wonderl muslim women, to understand their religion is to understand the people like with other relgions as mentioned on here, its not the religion its the people and how they think.
