I hate hearing these stories! I feel sorry for her loss, but I think there are too many children dying because of these people who are supposed to be their parents. If they are dying they are being hurt and used so there "parents" can receive welfare!

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW OLD THIS WOMAN WAS, BUT, COMMON SENSE IS NEEDED. MY DAUGHTER IS 18 WITH A BABY AND IS MORE RESPONSIBLE THAN THAT. DONT THESE WOMEN KNOW A CHILD CAN DROWN IN AN INCH OF WATER??/ I THINK THIS COUNTRY NEEDS TO WAKE UP AND SEE THAT GIVING BIRTH TO A CHILD MAKES YOU NO MORE OF A MOTHER THAN THESE SPERM DONATING DEADBEAT DADS!

This is exactly why some people should not be allowed to have kids! What an selfish idiot! Who leaves a baby alone? In a bathtub? That sounds too weird 4 me. Maybe in her own selfish way she wanted it to happen! Now come on. I'm sire she might some how receive money from this! Maybe she will sue the cigarette company for making her smoke! The sad part is that she probably won't spend that much time in jail. I could not live with myself if something happened to my kids that was an accident. I can't even imagine it being my fault! What a horrible mother!

Wow mommy dearest calling her actions simply 'irresponsible' is probably the understatement of the century. She is lucky that her 2 yr old also didn't drown, I hope the surviving child can be placed with a loving responsible family who can properly care for him.

Time for "Birth Permit" laws.

Requirements to receive a permit to have 1 baby:

HS Education w/ parenting class (passing grade).
Driver License w/ clean driving record.
Health Insurance.
Clean Criminal Background Check.
Average or better Credit Report.
Sign a Waiver of Welfare.

Is this reasonable ??

Do you have a brain?

How can you possibly try to regulate who is able to have a baby or not? Are you God, or is anyone else that walks this earth God? I think not.

People that do these acts will be judge on the last great day and answer to the one and only.

Responsible, you should have told your 18 year old daughter that even if IT is IN only an INCH, she can still get pregnant. Takes more than just the dead beat sperm donors to make a baby.

And this lady is in jail. I know of a Senator who drowned a lady in several feet of water and the aSShole served NO time; still was buried in Arlington National Cemetery, with the true AMERICAN HEROES. American justice is alive and well. Thank God for that...where would we be without IT???

Please, Give me a break. WTH! We all know that we are responsible to mind our child. Come on! She allowed her baby to drown. I have asthma and know what it feels like not to be able to breath. Believe me when I say, that baby died suffering. Sad!

I do feel sorry for the baby i knew lil man. Its tragic. But i hope they give his mom the life because of her irresponsibility. A mistake is a mistake but she know what she was doing while that baby was left in the bathtub. Its selfish and just plan not having common sense. I hope she enjoyed that last session she had. Life is no question.

Here we go again! To you bleeding hearts who say this was an "irresponsible" act...knows absolutely nothing about being a parent. What next...Allowing your 1 year old to play beside a highway or Allowing your 3 year old to hang on the bars of a polar bear cage at the zoo or maybe even allowing your 5 year old to walk 5 blocks to school alone...who knows what the next (incapable of being a parent) person will allow a child to do next. I feel so bad at how some kids have to live. We all know some idiot will shock us again shortly, they never let us down!

"Several of those friends testified on Friday. One person told the court she believes Henderson was outside for about 20 minutes before going back in and finding Malachi under water in the tub."

"It was a tragic mistake. I mean, people forget things. She goes through a lot on a daily basis as a single mother. Everybody is entitled to forget something, it just happened to be that, that the kids were actually in the tub, you know?" Siobhan Ford, another witness, told Hait."

I actually understood and agree to what was said. Try reading it a little slower, since I believe the punctuation is incorrect.

Who in the world would put a 7 month old in a bathtub and then leave the room period. Her friends say this was a horrible accident, and she is having a hard time dealing with it. Well she should, because this isn't happy time. Baby suffered and so should she.

how could anyone with half a brain call this an accident? leaving a 7 month old baby alone in a bathtub to go outside and smoke for 20 minutes isn't an accident. it's an intentional. its a deliberate. its a selfish uncaring poor excuse for a mother who would do such a thing.

i want to start off by saying i know seairia and no we were not friends. so i have no impartiallity in what happens to her. i can say she did love her children wasnt able to fully care for them on her own but she was exactly what she was a young other of 3 kids struggling in a bad area highland manor is a bad part of monessen and she acted like most of the other young mothers up there act. irresponsable yes she was wrong for leaving her children both the 7th month old and her 2yr old daughter what she did was horriable but to sit up here and call her names and downgrade her does nothing it doesnt bring that precious little boy back. i am in no way on her side she messed up and now she should pay the consequense for that mistake. beating her up brings nothing to anyone she knows what she did and she will forever live with that in her heart that her lack of parenting caused the death of her baby. that is a guilt she will never get rid of. but sit back in her shoes living in poverty seeing everyone else doing the same thing allowing thier children to always be out of thier site so her sitting in a car for a ciggerette was no big deal to her. yes i beleive that some sort of athority should of stepped in and investigated the situation before hand she has had problems to the point where she has already lost custody of her oldest child why wouldnt she be an ongoing case for the safty of her other children so the system is also screwed up in not doing thier part to ensure the safty of 2 other kids in her care. there are so many people to judge and blame for this traggic accident but remeber also she is a grieving mother who for the ost part was decent just irrsponsiable and she will live with this forever.

Here are some more faces that have slipped through the cracks. Click on their pictures and read their story. "The system is so screwed up" is an understatement.
