Letters: Smoking ban will be defeated

Has anyone but me figured out why the American Cancer Society and others are fighting the smoking-ban petition drive in South Dakota so hard? The reason is clear: They don't want it to go to a vote because this bill will go down to defeat.

I live in colorado and the casino's fought the smoking ban to no avail. They said initally they lost money but in the long run people who love to gamble came back and many more of the people who stayed away becauise of the smoke now enjoy the gaming.
