THE MULES: Philip Varney, Jordan Clevenger, Josh Cullop, Zack Staton, Mitch Case. They were a great group who worked very hard for the team. without them blocking, game over.

Did Howard need their money? Maybe his father needed a job? Or could it be, Doug needed a car? You've got be kidding! It's obvious that you don't know David Jones, his family or his motives. Jones lived with his mentor/care-taker David Cook. Cook was a good father-figure to Jones and a very good provider. Thanks to this man and a lot of hard work, Jones had the chance to play on two state chamionship teams at Belfry and then play at the University of Kentucky. Could it be that these kids want to come to Belfry they are close to the Southside Mall? NOT!!! They are coming to Belfry so they can play for championships? Some are coming to Belfry because they want to play for Phillip Haywood (the all-time winningest coach in KY)? If you had a son, where would you send him to play football (Yogi @ Mingo Central or Haywood @ Belfry)? You call it recruiting, I call it choice! As for me, I was s Tiger by birth...but a Pirate by choice!!!!

Coach Tackett dale Oliver and Dwight stepp had over a 1000 yards as a fullback freshman year but quit to work in the mines lol
