Mother of son accused of killing father defends him

My heart goes out to you mom. Something awful pushed him to the limit. May it get better for him and for you.

Who knows what pushed this boy into killing his father. The folks at CYFD will probably screw him up worse and then there's the mother. There's a reason she's not in the custody picture and it has something to do with her 'therapies'. In this state if a mother loses custody of her children she has to be pretty bad off. I feel for the kid but killing your dad is never the right choice.

The kid murdered his father because his father punished him for doing something wrong? What gives? Did the father tell his son to do his homework because the kid was flunking school?

The kid comes across as a mentally disabled person just like the kid's mother.

This child should ahve been with his mom anyways.This would not have happened.

Paula, you're a sap. You apparently did not read the other posts regarding this story or situation. This woman was denied custody and the circumstances surrounding this boy's actions seem to be a cumulative action by a very confused, disturbed and, abused child. I hope you do the homework before offering your heart to a total stranger.

You're just as guilty for allowing open gun access in the home.

"Parents are responsible" for guns in the house, that means both "you" and Dad.

Mom was not living the same house as the dad and the son, so how is she responsible for what went on in that house?

This child was ill! What a terrible tragedy! The mother should NOT have had this child. This story can not have a happy ending any way you look at it. A father is dead by the hands of his 10 year old son. What horrors led to this we will never know. The truly sad thing is there is a little girl still alive that was a witness and where will she end up. Back with a mother who lost custody? Pretty scary. I do hope there is a good therapist for the whole family for as long as possible. God Bless and help them all.

A story with little possibility of a good outcome for the children. Very sad.

The father had the kids, not the mother. Sounds like she is trying to come into the picture at the wrong time as if she was an angel. There is a reason this woman does not have custody of ANY of the children!!!

My question is for Monica Albear; I think it's great you are defending your son after all he's been through, the question is, "where were you when he was being abuse by his father?" Didn't you at least try to protect him when he was being abuse? as a mother - you should at least know the difference between being punish and being abuse! sounds to me you are feeling guilty for not protecting your son as the abuse was happening and now you want to show us the good mother image, a little to late for that, don't you think? If you were intelligent, you would have step in and stop the abuse, being a woman you have rights also and there is help out there for abuse children and woman, maybe your son would not be going through all this ordeal if you were a good mother!

So, where are the other stories as I am obviously missing something. This story says she has two other children. It did not say they do not live with her nor did it say that the ex.dead. husband had custody of the kid that killed him. There are alot of missing facts. Can anybody fill in the blanks? I cannot tell who is at fault other than the system at this point.???

If your kid was being abused why the he## didn't you stand up and for your son and stop the abuse. You could have reported this to CPS and saved a life.

From what has been posted about this story on past threads...

The mom lost custody for child abuse herself. Dad was given custody and a divorce followed. The dad was trying to get a handle on a bad situation. Social services received several reports of abuse (from whom we were not told... mom perhaps?) in the home and investigated. Neither C.P.S. nor the neighbors nor the kids schools saw any evidence of abuse in spite of the allegations. The moms relatives have been flaming the dead father on this site since he was murdered. The thing they accused him of over and over was taking the kids to get money from the state not child abuse. Thats a new one.
Thats what I have read about this tragedy so far. IF IF IF all these things are true it would explain a lot. The last time a story like this hit the news the boy was eight years old and he killed his father and a friend of the fathers because dad punished him by not letting him play a video game. Try to keep that case in mind before you rush to blame the victim this time. Society wants to believe that ALL children are innocent loving things that never do anything wrong unless they are abused. That is far from true. I am almost fifty but I have a great memory and still remember being a little kid. I saw kids this age torture animals to death. I saw kids molest the hell out of other kids and I saw kids hurt each other without the slightest remorse. When I told my parents about this stuff happening they taught me that kids can be very cruel and often I was told/ordered to avoid these sorts of kids. If the father was an abuser there will be evidence of it now that he is dead. Some will scream the "abuse excuse" whether or not there was any abuse (remember some people think a spanking is abuse). Others won't believe it even if the evidence is there (some people think severe abuse is "discipline). I'll reserve judgement until the facts come out. That means real FACTUAL EVIDENCE not emotional pleas on either side.

Now all of a sudden, the mother of the year comes to light to defend her crazy son!! Where was she at when this child was being raised?? Why did the father have custody of the child if the mom was so loving and caring?? I believe the state took the son from mom's custody for a reason she's not giving and now she wants to play the part!! Too little , too late!!!

If you were aware of the abuse and you did nothing to prevent it? and now after all the tragic end to this ordeal, you finally surface to say he was abuse? your are just as "guilty" as your son! farhter more and allow this child to possess a fire arm? you don't make any sense woman.

Enchanted--great comment. Too many people rush to judgement on these threads. Just because the boy said he was tired of being "punished" doesn't mean he was abused. Punishment may just mean he was tired of having to do the dishes or take out the trash to a 10 year old. Just because you don't want to believe a 10 year old is capable of murder, doesn't make it so. After all I'd like to believe 10-14 year old boys don't rape either but I have read about it several times. Time to take off the rose colored glasses and live on this planet.
